I just got the Nuvi 350 and it says in the owners manual that I can search for an address using a postal code, however there is no option for it when initiating the search. It just says "Spell City" or "Search All". Am I doing something wrong?
Got the same problem; I have updated the firmware to version 5.3, but when I go to Spell City and begin to enter the zip the second I hit a number it moves on to the search results page with no results except a button for Search All Cities. If I hit Search All Cities and enter the zip, it uses the zip as the address rather than the postal code. "You can search for a postal code. Enter the postal code instead of the city name."
Quote 2 (page 7):
"2. Select the region, city or postal code, when prompted.
Note: There never appears to be an occasion when I'm prompted to specifically enter a postal code, just a city. So I naturally do as instructed in quote 1 above.
When it asks for the city name, type the zip code instead. Not all maps support zip code search so it doesn't always work. If you are in the zip code you want to search, just select find nearest, or select typ name and hit enter with no name in the field.
Tomorrow I'll be able to get my hands on a Nuvi and I'll see if I can find the solution. If the software in your nuvi is less than version 5.00, download the update at this link: nuvi 300 Ver. 5.00 as of Oct 01, 2007

On my Nuvi 200, after "Where To?", you have to select "Address". My instruction book says: 2.Change the state, country or province if necessary. 3.Touch "Spell City", enter the city/postal code, and touch "Done". Select the city/postal code in the list. (Not all map data provides postal code searching). If you are unsure of the city, touch "Search All". There are further steps, but "Depending on the version of maps loaded on your nuvi, the button names can change and some steps could be ordered differently".

Anyone? Anyone? I would like to search by Zip Code and says that I can in the manual. How then can I use that search with the unit?
