Sounds like that monitor has reached the end of the road. I would recommend purchasing another monitor, other than view sonic. Purchase a Dell..they are great!

Viewsonic Optiquest Q19wb lcd Monitor goes blank after 2 secs. A couple of posts say replace the 1000uf 16v Cap My problem is i can't find them on the pcb (where are they?)

Look at the board where the AC power connector comes in that is the power supply board, there are more than one versions so it nay not have the same caps value.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Viewsonic/Optiquest monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Optiquest q20wb LCD has black screen & green power light flashing

Hi Rickyknows2,
If you are not hearing any beep I assume you are having problem with your video so, please ...
- open your PC and check whether your video card is well placed (sometimes it looks fine but you never know) remove it and put it back.
- If you used to remove often the cable from the PC, it might be that the pins from the monitor cable are even broke... please check.
- try to find another video card and replace it just to make sure its the video ...
- last... reset the bios (but I doubt that this is your problem)

Viewsonic Optiquest Q20wb green blink light

It's an issue with the power supply, most likely the Capacitors (one or more) may be shot. Open it up if it is out of warrenty, look at the capacitors (they look like cans), if they are bulging at the top or even sides they are bad. This is a common problem with this monitor. Crappy Caps used in manufacturing. Replace all the caps with same rated caps and you should be good. Do your research on how to desolder the old ones off and proper installation of the new ones.

Optiquest q20wb Screen goes blank after powering on

I'd like to report a success story. I had this same problem with my Q20WB. It sat for over a year in my garage. I eventually bought replacement capacitors, soldered them in, and now it works. You can find kits with the right capacitors preselected, or if you feel like it you can also buy them individually.

good luck

Optiquest q20wb Screen goes blank after powering off

I had the exact same problem. The screen went black and the green light flashed. I went ahead and took the monitor apart (scary) and took a look at the power supply circuitry. I saw 6 suspicious electrolytic caps on the board. Three 470uF 25V 105 degree C caps, two 1000uF 10V 105 degree C caps, and one 470uF 10V 105 degree cap. They all appeared to be slightly bulging and one even had a small hole in the top. I decided to replace all of them. The parts cost a little more than 5 bucks. I couldn't find a 470uF 10V cap at my local store so I bought a 16 V version instead, which is fine. Anyway, after replacing all 6 caps, the monitor works as good as new.

Optiquest V655 Monitor no power

Have you tried another power cable? It could be a power supply problem. Too be honest, being a 15" crt monitor it would prob be cheaper to replace the whole unit than have it diagnosed and repaired
