Dear Greg...You should specify which application you are using to burn and the version too...Anyways the general solution for this problem is some one has set the "Choose Recorder" option to " Image recorder...Change it back to your CD writer and it will be fine..If its Nero you will find it in the Recorder option...

I want to know how to extract iso files

Burn them to a CD/DVD using the proper software. An ISO is an image file. Use a CD/DVD burning app to burn them to the proper media in order to see the individual files. Alternatively, there are a few applications that will let you "edit" the ISO, such as WinZip, I think.

EMACHINE HAVE AN UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME. HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM?

Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 (or http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic28744.html)

Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, itll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.

If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.

You could also try a Live Linux like Knoppix Live from here:- http://www.knoppix.net/get.php,
download the Free ISO using a Torrent, burn it to a CD then run that it will load into Ram and then ith all the software in the CD you can examine the hard drive

hope this helps

How do you normally backup your computer? Do you burn files to cd/dvd disks or to an external usb hard drive?
Can you boot to safemode desktop?
Getting a pre-imaged drive means Dell will send you the hard drive configured for your system ready to startup and go. You don't need to fresh install Vista on the hard drive. Don't know if they actually will do that?
So the first priority here is to try and get your data off of your hard drive. I recommend using a BartPE live CD. You can create this CD and put burning softwre on it as well as network drivers etc. You would boot with the BartPE CD and see if you can access your files on the Vista hard drive. If you can then you can copy them over.
Here is a link to BartPE website.

My acard technology pro burns dvds but the target dvds end up all scratchy like quality the pixels move and everything

is resolutions pixel problem only on the dvd disks you burn?
you might have to save the dvd to a file first then burn it to a dvd
are you copyning from another dvd or from a saved file ??
you might be burning it as data
this might be a problem with the quality of the dvd disks you are using or might be the software you are using there are lots of free burning sofrware programs on the internet
this might be because you have not selected the option to burn an audio or data dvd or your burning software does not support dvd burning
there are plenty of free burning software programs on the internet

Can't see anything on CD after burning image file

Make sure the size of the .img file is comparable to the total size of the files you want to burn. if the sizes are similar, then you may have an open session on the disk. many optical drives wont read the information in an open session. check your burn options and select 'close session', then reburn. If the size is very small, then the .img file may not have been created properly.
