it sounds to me that your paper level sensing switch is jammed or broken. Look for a micro switch that has an arm that lays on top of the paper stack. It may be bent or broken.

SC541 indicates that you have a defective or opened thermistor. replacing the both thermistor will solve your problem.

It's not the received fax that's causing the problem. There is a problem with the machine, that will cause anything else to jam too. Call for service
