Keeps reseting to Tray 1

I have an HP Color Laser Jet 4700n. It keeps wanting to open in Tray # 1 and it needs to be on Tray #2. We have to reset every time before we can print. How do we reset to Tray # 2 to where it will stay there?

Printer Defaults button? what magical land is that found in?

Here is the real solution:
In Printers and Faxes, right-click the printer
Click Printing Preferences
In Paper Source drop down, select Tray 2.

Peace!!

Hi, to change your default tray and get it to stick, you'll need to change the printer options in Windows, not inside the program that's printing. Close all programs, go to Start, Printers and Faxes, find the 4700n printer you're using, right click and go to Properties. Inside properties, click on the Printer defaults button, and set your Tray preferences there and save them. Then go into the program and try again. Good luck!

HP Color laser jet 4700n 49.3048 service error

The problem is usually caused by printing a PDF file with fonts/page size/ page formating errors which will cause the printer to display the 49.3048 error. The only way to use the printer is to POR or recycle the power and delete the print job from the server or spooling device and cancel it on the printer before the offending command is issued to the printer again. You can try updating the firmware to the latest version 46.140.5 from the HP website. MIke L.

Hi,

Browse through the menu's of the printer
Paper Handling Menu, Set

Cant figure out how to open Tray 1 to clear paper jam

Leave Tray1 closed. Remove tray 2. Push down on green arrows visible after removing Tray 2. You should see the jammed paper on the plastic tray which becomes accessible after pushing down on the green arrows.

Laser jet HP 2600n

Before you print, check the printer settings and see if it is set to choose paper automatically. If it is try manually setting it to the tray 1 you mentioned. This may stop the printer from checking every time it is grabbing paper. Also try keeping the other tray slightly open which may automatically tell the printer to look right away at the other tray.

Hope this helps!
