There is no way to recover a lost password without erasing the device.
First, turn your tablet off. Then, power the tablet back up by holding down the volume (either + or - ) and power buttons simultaneously. Continue holding the volume button until the screen says "Booting tablet in recovery mode." This will give you a picture of an Android. Tap the android, and you will be given a screen with several options. Move between the options with the + and -, and select with the power button.
Go to the option for Factory Data Reset and select it. Scroll down to Yes, and then the tablet will erase its memory back to factory settings. Once it has completed, select Reboot Tablet Normally.
Press the Power button longer until your tablet shuts down. If you can restart it, find a cache cleaner software to clear the cache for more space. Sometimes, the cache takes up nearly all the available space from the tablet's ROM. This slows down the tablet considerably and also causes malfunctioning of the OS.
Try pressing the factory reset button, if this fails, indication is that major electronic fault is preventing the processor from running. If it's still under warranty, call MFG for replacement or repair.

Try shutting down your tablet completely and wait a few minutes before turning it back on. Turn it on and see if that helped. That happened to my tablet too and I shut it down a while and it worked.
