Connecting digital converter,Emerson VCR/DVD Combo,Sony SDTV

How do I connect cables for Sony Trinitron Dolby Digital SDTV, Emerson VHS/DVD Combo, HD DTA1080 Converter Box. I've tried all the diagrams that came with all systems and none work. I should add that I can watch tv with digital channels, but when I want to watch a movie using the dvd/vcr I have to unplug the cables and plug into other plugs to do it. How can I hook the cables up so that I can just go from watching tv to watching a movie on the dvd/vcr without moving the cables? TKS

I think you may need an RF Modulator. This device will have connections for the DVD and TV and will have a channel 3/4 switch. Good luck to you.

Hi,can I record digital transmissions on my sony slv-se820g vcr barry

You can record a digital TV signal on a VHS VCR but only in analog format. The digital signal must be input to the VCR by some component which has a yellow composite video output and a white audio output such as a digital cable TV box or satellite receiver. For over-the-air digital TV, either the TV must output analog video or you need a DTV converter box connected to the VCR. Bottom line, the digital signal must be converted to analog for the VCR since VHS VCRs generally are analog recorders.

Have digital TV have 3 yr old sony VHS VCR DVD player combo

A DTV converter box will take digital broadcast signals from the antenna and convert them to a format compatible with the VCR. You will be able to record programs received through the DTV box on your VCR if you could record analog over-the-air programs before the digital changeover. You can use either the RF output or the component output from the DTV box to input to the VCR.

No surround sound from my PS3 through the Onkyo 5100. Video OK

Unfortunately only the higher end Onkyo Reciever pass audio over HDMI for sound. 605,705,805,905 exc. Your reciever will carry Video over HDMI but you will need a digital optical cable for sound.

No color and no audio

yes , this is why , on your dvd there is a "yellow for video" output on it ,and then there is a "red output jack for right audio"
and then there is a "white output jack for left audio" does your tv have these inputs?

the blue , green and red "RCA JACKS" are called " composite video" which seperates the colors of given video

the red and white RCA jacks are for right and left audio and are required when using composite or the yellow video jack

there is also a "s-video" connection that is one cable but seperates the colors for better picture quality ( dvd player only)( vcr and tuner do not work with this)

then there is a optical or coax digital connection for a reciever that decodes the connections audio digital signals for dolby digital surround sound

I would like to convert a VHS tape to DVD. I have (1) the Sony Handycam Digital 8 DCR TRV310, (2) Panasonic VCR, and (3) Macbook Pro with iMovie. I don't know much about the digital camera's ability to...

I think you are expecting camera to covert VCR analog video-audio signal into digital so it can be record in Macbook?

Camcorder will not do this job and you need to hookup VCR with DVD Recorder to burn DVD of VHS tape.

Digital converter

If you recieve your signal on this TV over the Air (Rabbit Ears) then Yes you will need a digital Converter for this TV. If you are hooked up to Cable or a Satalite Dish, your TV will continue to work without the converter box.
