Difficultiy in understanding japness on machine

Read me what it says...word for word. I sew a lot.

When I don't understand instructions, I look at the instructional images. Turn your fabric just like the picture. It helps to understand what they are telling you. Make sure you understand their way of noting back and front of fabric. I have been sewing for 43 years and I still do that. I think the people writing the instructions don't actually sew.

A good Viking dealer can provide you a manual in many different languages, they just need to be ordered.

I cannot say for sure, but I don't think the Designer 1 has cams at all. My understanding is that it works by a pantograph type of operation, rather than having a push rod that "reads" the movements of cams. Willing to be proved wrong, though! I would phone a Husqvarna repair shop and ask them - if anyone knows the answer, it should be the people who work on the machines.
