My drum light wont go out , when it is like this it wont turn on. I have to power down the house to jump start the washing machine... Help me please
Solution. Unplug the machine. Hold the power button for 10 seconds. Plug back in. Push the power button and the washer should turn on. Walk away leaving the machine on. When I did this, I came back to find the drum light off and machine would start on command now. Good luck.
I did just like it says to do. That solved the problem. I glad I looked at this websight. Thought I was looking at a new circuit board or even worse, a new washer from what I've seen other people posting on LG front loader washers.

When we do this, and plug back in the machine automatically comes on and it eventually powers off but the light stays on
ya, the 5 second or 10 second suggested repair hasn't worked for me either

That is a terrible answer! Someone is asking how to solve a problem with the drum light, and you tell them to buy a new washer?!? You are terrible!
LG WM2501HVA My drum light remained on and it wouldn't power up. Only able to power it on for one wash by unplugging and plugging back in. Had to do this for every wash. Replaced MCB in the top back of washing machine. Should have tried tapping the yellow relay first I guess on my original MCB, but replacing it worked too lol!
MY ADVICE IS TO BUY A NEW WASHER. I INVESTIGATED LG ON THE INTERNET LAST NIGHT AND I HAVE READ ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT LG PRODUCTS. I ALSO READ THAT LG DOESN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. I HOPE THIS IMFO HELPS. HOW OLD IS YOUR WASHING MACHINE?

I just noticed my drum light on all the time the other day. I shouldn't have to unplug and plug it back in for the light to go out. I liked putting in my laundry before I went to work in the mornings, but the light always went off within 2 min. My machine is only about 3 years old and I paid around $1200 for the set.

This solution worked however not fully. The same problem would occur after I turned the machine off or I ran a load and the machine powered down. It did correct itself however after I unplugged, hit power for 10 seconds, plugged back in, hit the power button, then walked away. When I returned, the lamp was off and I was able to turn on/off the washer on command. Hope this works for you as well.

Open top washer lid. You will find the main computer board on the left back side. Disconect the yellow plug . that's a relay in the board hit it a few times with something gently, this will un stuck the relay that's causing you the issue, plays it back and try it on.
I have fixed 3 of them by doing this.
