Dishes not clean powder not distributing - Jet Clean Flexi-Load

I do not have a service manual for this dishwasher - it was in the property already. I wonder if I should be doing routine maintenance. It is not distributing dishwashing powder or cleaning dishes sufficiently. Should I be adding salt? How can I clear any blockage? The upper spray arm does not seem to be able to be removed for cleaning.

I have used this before and it works great! Dishwasher Majic. Sears' site is down I was going to post a link to it but I found this one instead. I work on all types of used dishwashers and It returns the inside to "like new". The short video link I am sending to you will tell you how to use it and I learned something myself by watching it...you can get it at wal-mart! Good Luck and write back with any additional problems!

P.S. Dont remove the spray arm when you use this. If you want you can remove the spray arm and spray some slightly pressurized water into the core of the spray arm to try to push out any buildup that will sometimes get in them and then run the unit with dishwasher majic and spray arms in place.

My dishwasher is not cleaning the dishes as well as it used to. Are there some simple things I can try before calling a tech?

Use a good quality powder detergent.
Check your incoming water temperature, 120 degrees plus.
Use a rinse aid such as Jet Dry.
Start the DW without soap and no dishes.
Once it starts the wash cycle pour in 1 quart of WHITE vinegar and let it finish the full wash cycle.
Then load up with dishes and powder detergent and run a load.

Dish soap is leaving a build up on the interior of the dishwasher

Hi. Run your hottest and longest cycle with no soap, no dishes and 2 cups of white vinegar. Also, run the hot water into the sink before starting the dishwasher. Once the sink water is as hot as it gets, then push the start on the dishwasher. J.

Have a 2+year old LG LDF6810ST dishwasher that shows no error codes but is not cleaning like it used to. Have city water, do not leave excess food on dishes when loading, am only using powder after...

Try these things in order:

-Try to use a name brand powder, rather then a generic. Even a small box. I had similar problems with my LG dishwasher when I tried to save money by buying a generic powder. My dishes did not get clean and white marks were left behind on my stainless steel DW liner and the dishes. When you ad the powder, do not over fill the dispenser. Add less than the full dispenser cup and close it. Place some powder in that shallow square indent on the dispenser lid to help the pre-wash cycle. Also, run the water in the sink until hot water runs immediately before you start the DW.

-If, after using Electrosol or Cascade for 2 - 3 loads and your dishes do not come out clean, then I would run a load of dishes without adding the soap. Start the dishwasher and wait for it to fill and begin to wash. Open the door and add one cup of vinegar (white vinegar is fine.) Feel free to ad another cup after the first wash water drains and the second wash water enters and the DW begins the wash cycle again. Run a load of dirty dishes with the soap and check for good cleaning.

-If the problems continue, it is time to remove the filter assembly by removing the 9 silver phillips screws from the filter assembly. You will also need to remove the lower sprayer arm by pulling straight up and then out. With a flashlight, inspect the sump area that was hidden by the filter assembly, looking for any debris that has jammed into anywhere down there. Watch out for broken glass as you feel around. Reassemble and test with a load of dirty dishes.

The poor drying may be caused by not keeping the rinse aid re-filled. Check that first.

Also, these water and energy conserving dishwashers actually use the "dirt" from the dirty dishes to help clean the dishes during the first two wash cycles. Simply clear the big chunks off the dishes and put the dishes in the DW.

Please report back what you find or if you have more questions. OK?

I just moved into a house with a Roper dishwasher. I could not find a users manual that would tell me what type of soap that could be used in this machine (powder or liquid?) and where to put the soap in...

The dishwasher will clean best if you use a name brand powder. As you look at the inside of the door of your dishwasher, you should find some sort of dispenser cup or tray, with a lidd that closes some how.

You do not need to fill the cup(s) full of powder to get clean dishes.

Also, you should have a rinse aid dispenser that should be refilled fairly often.

My dishs and glasses have a foggy film on them all of a sudden, I use a powder dishwasher det and tried jet dry too, I can't use liquid cascade as I used it before and I do not have softwater and liquid...

Put two cups of vinegar into your machine and run the hottest and longest cycle you have this will clean the machine and solve the problem.

My dishes are not clean and cloudy

After you have removed the filter and cleaned out any debris, clean the inside of the dishwasher with white vinegar by filling a bowl or large cup with white vinegar and placing it on the rack and running a short cycle with no powder inside.
Use a name brand powder (Cascade or Electrosol) rather than the ultra-cheap powder. Never use gel or tablets in any dishwasher.
If problems continue, you almost certainly have a failed heating element. Replacing the element yourself is not tremendously difficult if you are handy and promise fo disconnect the power before you begin. Otherwise, a service call is the next step.
