my files are still there but with .GHO and .GHS extensions.. and i can't open it. I know that I needed a Norton Ghost to open it, can a trial version recover those files? How? If not, is there any other way to recover my files?
please help me. thank you.

Yes! You are right! Nowadays, the
formatting process will not actually erase everything contained on a PC hard
drive immediately as we think. The deleted files are still there and become
invisible. So, just act carefully to get these contained files back:
1. Stop using this PC right now in case that any new file on it may overwrite your wanted files.
2. Download a PC data recovery freeware to retrieve all your lost files back.
In fact, there are plenty of data recovery programs available online. But, not all of them can work as efficiently as you think. So, you should pay attention to select a proper one for your data.
If you still have no idea, you can firstly try a PC data recovery freeware online that can work much more efficiently than some paid ones:
4. Save or back up all the restored data on another drive in case of any data loss.
Next time, you should be much more careful about your data and always back up everything important well.

Yes, trial version can recover it. Just attach another drive or partition and via Norton Ghost recover all files in newly added drive/partition
