When in Macro mode, the focus on your camera is locked at 3.9 inches (10 cm). It will not autofocus in Macro mode. So your ring should be 3.9 inches from the lens. It is important that you have enough light. Your one flash shot shows that the flash is too bright for macro work. So bring in a small table lamp to illuminate the hand and ring. A goose neck lamp would be nice. In macro mode, the depth of field is quite narrow and a well lit subject helps increase the depth of field. The depth of field is the portion that will be in-focus. It might help to have a dark background. Place the hand on a black cloth or black paper.

SOURCE: photo capacity

i'm pretty sure there's a button you can press which gives you options to change the sizes of your photos e.g. 2M, 3M, 6M
they make the file smaller and gives you more space to have a lot of photos
press around to see :)
hope this helped

You will need the driver and install it before connecting the camera. Download it from the official Sony website

Hi there
First of all check to make sure the cards write protect is off, take the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg .
Pop it back in the camera and try to format the card again, if you get the same error message again there could be a chance the card is damaged.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Driver doesnt work. cant open sony camera smart zoom dsc-p72

Try NOT using a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Sony DSC-P72 won't snap a picture

Have you done a "hard" reset?

Under the jack cover (below the zoom rocker on the back of the camera) there is a small "reset" button. You'll need to press it with a sharp object, and hold it down for a few seconds. If it was a setting problem, this should resolve it.

Please send a solution asap

I have no idea what the symbol is.

I suggest that you check that your memory stick is not locked, not full and is inserted properly into the camera.

Reset the camera (button under the connector flap, below the zoom buttons on the back of the camera)

Reducing noise for DSC-P72

Rendrat: I just got a P72 and am wondering what settings you are using. Are you using Auto ISO? If so, the ISO will increase to 250+ with the flash and any significant zoom. It's a pretty weak flash and increasing the ISO is the only way to get sufficient range. You will definitely notice the noise at ISO 250.

Sony DSC-P72 close up photos

A common problem is that you have some 3.2 Megapixel (MP) and that image is all of 640x480 or 0.3072 M. That means you could move back from the camera, shoot at 3.2 MP then crop out a 640x480 image that may be in focus.
