I purchased secondhand a viewsonic pentium 3, 1100 and other than when the seller booted up the system and the second booting when i got home, (both sucessful booting), I have been unable to get the tablet part of the pc to light up the screen. The seller said I may need a battery that i could purchase on line for approximately $60.00, and when I power up the tablet the green power light illuminates and then the red battery indicator illuminates aswell, sometimes flashing. However there is an other source powering the tablet aswell and that is the ac adapter. Do i need a battery that works to power up this thing? Please help. Lost in AZ. _ Dana

Please let me help. the ac adapter will plug into the back of the latop.
check lights then if red light still on after one hour plugged in then you need new battery.try this if two green lights only on after, you do not need battery.

you can sometimes find them on ebay...

How to reset tablet with computer

Is this a windows tablet? If so, I imagine that you are running Windows 8. Point your cursor to the bottom right of the screen and click on the "Search" icon. In the text box, enter "System Restore".

If you are trying to format the tablet, you could place the unit in a docking station and boot the device through a USB image of the operating system. You can find loads of information on how to accomplish this through the Microsoft website.

Most laptops cannot boot up from a USB device/hard drive. Check the BIOS configuration to see if the USB is available in the boot order devices. In this case the USB driver is not available for use until Windows is installed.
If the USB is not available in the BIOS Boot order then you need to reinstall Windows using the installation CD in the CD drive..

The charging circuit doesn't seem to be working. The charge indicator LED is lit red (and has been for a long time). It sometimes goes out for a few seconds but then comes back on red. It does not seem...

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no "Replacement" part for this. It will have to be fixed by the Manufacturer. It isn't a "Part" per-say, but a circuit on the motherboard itself. If it is no longer working, then it is a hardware issue, and since it is a "Laptop" style computer, there is no way to simply fix it.

Fujitsu seems to have secretly added a Hardware black list for Booting USB DVD-rw.CD-rw drives.

I have a Stylistic ST5032D slate.

Your either going to have to buy fujitsu's over priced external drive or buy fujitsu's over priced dock.

Or What I do is Bought WinImage or any other software that allows writing a ISO image to USB flash drive, this should almost always work.

I had to install Windows 7 on my tablet this way.

Choose your poison.

Gateway M1300 tablet pc will not charge in the

Question 1: Will the tablet operate on the docking station (or power cord) without the battery in place?

If not, the power circuit on the tablet motherboard is broken.

Question 2: If you plug in the power cord into the tablet, is the connection "loose"?
Check the other tablet to see if it is the same loosness at the tablet power connector.

If it is loose, the power receptical in the tablet can be soldered back onto the motherboard.

Recommend taking it into a shop to re-solder.
If under warranty, get it repaired.
If not under warranty, your choice if you want to use it they way it is.

Power port on le1600 does not charge batteries.

In some Motion LE1600 tablet pcs, the AC adapter port becomes separated from the motherboard. It will charge in the convertible keyboard or docking station because the power comes from the USB connection (for the kb) or the dock connector (for the FlexDock). Motion used to fix this by repairing the solder joint but now they just replace the motherboard (very expensive). There are ways to solder this but the repair doesn't always last unless you have someone really good do it.
