Drum not spinning, seems to be stuck

Set the washer to normal to run, it ran fo 10 minutes, then started to spin and then stopped with error LE flashing. I unplugged the power for 30 minutes and did exactly what was suggested on the HELP but still didn't work. Do I need to call for service and how much would it cost?

LE error means "Motor Error" that your machine's motor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: When to know if the motor is going out ?

This fix below completely fixed my LG front loader issue of the drum "freezing" and "studdering" on fill and a lot of times giving a LE (motor overload) error. Bought position sensor as described and doing a load right now!

Wolfster you are awesome...you saved me probably $200.

Definitely sounds like the position sensor is faulty. I had this happen to my WM2277HB recently. Motor would start to turn, then jerk, hum, and not move, eventually gives LE code. Powering down, all the other tips had no effect. Very unlikely that the motor itself is bad if it still turns freely. You could confirm the stator wiring is OK by unplugging it and taking resistance readings across the stator terminals of the 3-pin connector (any combo of two should be 7-15 ohms). I was able to order the part from an online electronics supplier (www.mcminone.com, P/N 6501KW2002A, description is "sensor assembly") and several other places may have it as well. You can download a basic but somewhat helpful service manual here http://136.166.4.200/contents/Laundry/WM2277.htm that has some disassembly instructions and exploded view diagrams, explains the troubleshooting mode. Don't even bother calling LG or a service tech unless it's under warranty. If you're here you probably have some basic repair skills and tools4.gif and can easily replace it yourself for about $20. My washer was about a year and a half old when the sensor went out, now it runs great again.

Just had this same problem on my LG wm1832CW machine. Sensor assembly was replaced and all is well..
Simple and fairly inexpensive to replace.

SOURCE: LG WM2077CW LE Error, won't spin

It sounds like the motor sensor has failed and needs to be replaced.  Yes a DYI can do it.  The sensor is in the back.
Remove the back cover.
Use a 17mm socket to remove the center bolt holding the rotor.  Remove the rotor by pulling it straight out.  It will be hard but keep pulling.
Now use a 10mm socket to remove the 6 bolts holding the stator assembly.  Carefully remove the stator and turn it around to locate two connectors.  The 5 wire connector is the motor sensor.  Replace it and reinstall and it should work fine.

Washer stops cycleing

First are you sure the error code is 'LE' and not 'tE' which looks very similar. The LE is usually the motor position sensor. Common on older washers. Easy fix. Under $20 part. The tE error is usually the thermistor. Inexpensive part about $6, but can be more complicated to get to. Ad a comment to your question and my answer with error code and I'll reply with more info if needed.

My washer is not working it begins to spin stops and has the letters LE appearing.

Hi,

This a common problem for all front loaders. Your washer will not drain or work 'cause your outlet filter is clogged or an unusually heavy load. The small door is on the left side front bottom of your washer. Remove the door with a putty knife or thin butter knife inserted in the middle top of the access panel door. Drain the water from the filter housing by pulling the tube out of the clip and unplugging, allow it to run into a bucket while the machine is in spin only mode. This mode is acheived when the washer is first powered on press the spin button until no spin is reached then run. Run in this mode until no water is draining from the tube in the bucket. Keep the tube as low as possible. When water has stopped coming out of the tube turn off the washer and unplug from the wall. This step is important because this resets the fault. Expect some water to come out when you open the filter housing by turning counterclockwise until you can pull the filter from its housing. Clean out your filter, return to housing turning clockwise until seated and recap the tube and place in the holder, refit the cover and plug back into the wall. Fixed. You may also need to lighten the load a bit but I always try full on load anyways. If it fails again just lighten, unplug wait >1 minute then replug and run.

Goodluck..

Annoying LG Tromm wm2277hw "LE error" won't go away.

Might be "tE" error code. Thermistor error. A $6 parts and pretty common and causes the symptoms you described.

I have a Lg WM2277HW front load washer. I replaced P/N 6501KW2002 (hall sensor), unfortunately still recieving error code LE. I even ran normal wash cycle no spin and 3 rinse and spins w/ no spin to...

Make sure hall sensor is snapped in to correct location and is secure. Take a look at repair videos from repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for guidance. And the error code is "LE" for sure not "tE" which is sometimes confused between the two.

My washer is saying LE, what does LE mean? It stopped washing!

Is this a new installation?
In new installations, this error can sometimes present because of a miscommunication between the control panel and the wash motor. In this instance, the washer simply needs to be reset.

Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.
Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.

Are there soap suds visible in the drum?
Over-sudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE (high efficiency) detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. In addition, detergent residue can also cause leaking and odor. Follow these steps to resolved an LE error code caused by over-sudsing.

Step 1: Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.
Step 2: Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.
Step 3: Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.
Step 4: Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.
Step 5: After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause]. This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum. Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Hope this helps.

Has a large load size been used with a gentle wash setting?

Gentle wash cycles such as Perm Press, Delicates, Hand Wash, and Wool/Silk should only be used for smaller loads. Because the cycles are more gentle while tumbling and spinning, too many items in the drum can register as an issue with the motor. In this instance reset the unit and run a test rinse and spin cycle.

Has the washer been overloaded?

Single bulky items or large loads can add extra weight to the drum and place stress on the motor. Remove some of the clothing and restart. If the issue is still present after a few items have been removed, unplug the washer for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool and then restart the cycle.

NOTE: Make sure the drum is not overloaded

LE error

I tried a solution I found elsewhere - worked great. I had turned my drum enough to cause the display to turn on (a glitch in their program, I think), then I got the LE code on the next cycle.

Unplug for 10 minutes. Turn back on and press the Rinse & Spin button, then set Spin Speed to No Spin. Run this cycle, which should work fine. Afterwards, you should be able to run your machine as normal. If this doesn't work, replacing the Hall sensor would be the next step.

If you have a moldy smell, run a no-clothes cycle with some liquid bleach. Should clear that up.
