Get a Q-Tip and alcohol. Wet Q-tip with alcohol. Stand in front of the printer and look down where the paper feeds through. On the righthand side you will see a big roller that pulls the paper through and a little one right up under that. Clean both of them with the alcohol and Q-tip. Press the paper feed button and as it trys to act like it is feeding the paper, clean the roller with the Q-tip. Do this until the paper feeds through correctly.

Trying to print on a #10 envelope from iMac 27 with Os 10.5.1 using iWork. Printer will not load paper

I am on an iMac using OSX 10.5.8 and printing on an Epson R1800. With iWork, word processing module I set up the envelope to print and under the File menu, select page setup and choose #10 Envelope with Portrait orientation. I feed the envelope into the printer in the normal horizontal, top first, print surface up. In the File menu I select Print and hit Return. Most of the time this works. Sometimes the envelope feeds through without printing, and occasionally the envelope won't feed but the printer goes through the printing cycle. The R1800 is not the ideal envelope printer. It is made to print photos on photographic paper. I use an old fashioned typewriter to address envelopes.

Epson R1800: printing 13x19" velvet paper. hand feeding into rear of printer. keeps saying eror, or paper jam or ... then finally just spits the paper through and out.

why print velvet paper? the problem is the velvet would be too thick and it would jam the print heads because when they run over the paper it would pull the velvet and it would get jammed i don`t think you should print velvet

My printer will not print card paper for xmas

Hi - I too am having an issue with my R1800 loading XMAS CARD STOCK paper.....I tried cleaning the rollers as per the EPSON web site. Although, I used alcohol in stead of water. I made sure I got the little roller way down under the paper and it seems better...although not 100%. Hope this helps!

I have an Epson R1800 and when I load Roll 13X19 matte media and try to print I either get a "jammed media" message or the printer trys to print without feeding the media.

I had a similar problem trying to print epson pro canvas. I finally learned the "trick". First I generally cut an appropriately sized pice of canvas from the roll. Then I attach a HEADER. This is dome by cutting a piece of 13" wide photo paper in a three inch length (so you have a piece 13" x 3") . Draw a line at 1.5 inches and place some sort of adhesive (I use a double sided tape gun) on one side of the line. Line up the canvas/paper with the line and make sure it sticks to the header.

Now you should be able to manually feed the header/paper into the printer - once the header passes the correcct point the printer will "grab" it a position it correctly for printing.

Hope this helps

When I press print on the computer, the Epson R1800 just sends the paper through the printer without printing on the paper.

It may have taken care of itself. Problem occurred when I was using letter sized sheets. Switched to 11x17 sheets and after running a couple of these through the printer, it started to print again.

EPSON R1800

Clean the rollers down where the paper sets in the printer. Do not use cheap generic matte coated paper. Some generic matte coated paper will leave a film on your rollers and cause them to not grip the paper.

R1800 Borderless Printing Problem

Hi Tom, Have you downloaded the latest driver from the Epson web site. Also make sure the output tray is in the correct position and that you are using the correct paper. You can use the following media with this feature: Matte Paper - Heavyweight A3+, A3, A4 Premium Glossy Photo Paper A3+, A3, A4, 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 in.), 329 mm x 10 m, 210 mm x 10 m (Roll paper) Premium Semigloss Photo Paper A3+, A3, A4, 329 mm x 10 m, 210 mm x 10 m, 100 mm x 8 m (Roll paper) Archival Matte Paper A3+, A3, A4 Watercolor Paper-Radiant White A3+ Velvet Fine Art Paper A3+ Ensure the output tray is in the correct position as if the tray is too low and the paper "falls" down into the tray the weight of the paper could pull the last few millimeters of paper out of the exit rollers, causing the band.
