There are a couple of possible solutions. 1/ Resin ribbons are meant to be used on synthetic labels onle ie vinyl or polyester. If you are trying to print on paper labels then you will get a rubbish print. you need to use either a wax ribbon or a wax resin ribbon.
2/ If you are printing onto a synthetic labels and the print is light, try increasing the "print darkness" some times called contrast or heat or printhead setting.. This can be fount in the printer set up in the labels software you are using or in the print drive under "Print Preference"
Just a thought, Zebra Ribbons are Coated Side Out. Take a piece of tape and press it against the ribbon, ink should come off on the tape.
If not then make sure the ribbon is the correct type and that you have it loaded properly. Also, if you use multiple ribbons i.e. wax, wax resin or resin make sure that you have the correct ribbon for the media installed.
The quality depends on the type of support you are using It can be wax / waxResin or pure resin Usually: - Paper = wax ribbon or Wax /resin ribbon - Plastics = Resin ribbon Take care I think that the ribbon should be on 1/2 inch cores
Not necessarily. It could be a head adjustment. If you are just printing on a blank thermal transfer label stock then wax should be just fine. If you are printing on a colored stock then a resin/wax would be better. We use resin/wax on everything because it is the same cost and runs better. But if you have only blank paper wax will be fine. If you are smearing then I suggest adjusting your head. Even if it printed fine before as your platen roller wears down it will require slight head adjustments to print properly
Just type the part number into google and you will get plenty of hits for sites selling that part number of zebra ribbon. Zebra 3200 Performance Wax-Resin Ribbons 3200 Perfromance Wax-Resin Ribbon (2.5 in. x 2,928 in., Single Roll) for TLP 2844 Printers
I haven't tried yet but after doing extensive reading feel that the problem is in the ribbon type. I thought it was a resin wax blend but it was one that I had for awhile without any label on it and I'm thinking it may be just a wax and that is why it works on white labels but not on the poly or mylar.
