I bought a Bosch table saw GTS some 3 years ago, and it is about time that I change the blade. I have been trying to unscrew the hex nut with everything I have, even used a hammer to hit the spanner. I am sure I am turing it the right way. I tried oil to lubricate. The nut nor the spindle are corroded. What could I try next to turn the nut?
SOURCE: Have a 12 inch tradesman miter saw and can not change the blade
the nut maybe a left handed thread. the norm is righty tight. lefty loosy, try the oposite.
SOURCE: When I try to change
If it is like a Dewalt table saw it requires 2 wrenches, one for the hex nut and the other open end for the spindle shaft. If this doesn't help you can go to their website and look at an operators manual for this particular tool.

Try the other direction. It seems to me those are reverse threaded....so you have to turn the bolt clockwise to loosen.

SOURCE: stuck blade
I looked for a picture of this saw -- couldn't find one. When you wrote that you put the blade down on a 2x4 that sounds like a chop saw. In which case the balde is attached to the motor shaft.
A torch is kinda extreme, but if you do it safely & quickly it might work. If the blade is on the motor shaft, you don't want too much heat to get into the motor.
You don't want to heat the blade. Heat the nut only -- the nut will expand more than the shaft and perhaps break loose. I wouldn't heat it more than 20-30 seconds and make sure the flame is directly on the nut. Also make sure all flammable stuff is out of the way (like sawdust).
I wouldn't expect the heating to allow you take it off by hand -- you'll probably have to try all the brute force measures again -- and remember the left hand threads.
SOURCE: Bosch 4000 table saw will not start.
A real Weakness of this saw is sawdust and debri entering the cooling ports of the motor causing intermittent contact of brushes which damages the motor speed control board ($40.00). Don't ever operate this saw with out a vacuum saw dust extraction system. Also when you replace the Speed control board also replace the Brushes ($6.00). It helps extend the operational life of the motor components to blow out the contaminants regularly with compressed air through the motor cooling ports (turn off saw first).
You can bypass the speed control board (if you want to disable this wonderful engineering feature by attaching black and white power wires directly to the black and white wires to motor.
