Will not wash

The machine works final in spin mode. However in wash mode, it starts, clicks but will not spin the clothes to balance and drain the last wash. Therefore it will not start the wash cycle.

SOURCE: Frigidaire front load washer (LTF600ES1) Error E20

holla, Im not showing a E20 code on the tech sheet. There is a E21. Water not draining fast enough. Try holding the start/pause and cancel key together for 3 seconds. The door lock, wash, rinse and final spin leds should light. Any error codes should be displayed when holding those keys. If you see a different error code, post it. If not, I would suspect a clogged pump...Catriver.

IT IS THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY, COST AROUND $50.00 WHICH IS FAR BETTER THAN $300.00, WHAT A SERVICE REPAIR PERSON WILL CHARGE YOU. YEA IT'S THE CRAZIEST THING IMAGINABLE, THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY BEING THE CAUSE FOR IT TO NOT SPIN ALL THE WATER OUT. I FIXED MINE MYSELF, HAD TO TAKE IT ALL APART VERY CAREFULLY, BUT I SAVED MYSELF $250.00. YOU CAN GET THE PART ONLINE OR GO TO NEAREST APPLIANCE PARTS STORE IN YOUR CITY. ASK FOR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY. THEY WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE IT IS A VERY COMMON, I REPEAT VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS BRAND OF WASHING MACHINE.

HI .THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WATER PUMP.REMOVE 2 SCREWS AT BOTTOM OF FRONT PANEL . PUMP ON RIGHT .REMOVE HOSES AND CLEAN OUT THANKS THE APPLIANCE DOC.

Possible imbalance:

When the washing machine will not spin, this may not be due to a fault on the machine. It may be due to the electronic balance check.
The electronic balance check ensures that the clothing is balanced inside the washing machine before the appliance starts to spin. This prevents your washing machine from being subjected to uneven loads, which can damage the machine.
The electronic balance check also means that your washing machine will not be able to spin a single garment or a few garments because it is unable to balance the machine. If the imbalance exceeds 0.5 kg, the spin function will not operate.
In the case of a single garment or a few garments, there will be nothing wrong with the washing machine. You can work around the problem by placing a few towels in the washing machine. Towels help the washing machine to balance the load and spin.
You can test your machine by spinning with an empty drum (without any garments). If this works, the machine is working properly.
Overloading the machine can also cause the machine not to spin.

If none of the above suggestions resolve the problem, we recommend contacting an Authorized Service Center.
Rinse hold selected:

If rinse hold is selected, the washing machine does not spin at the end of the cycle. If there is water in the machine after washing, select and start a pumping cycle.

Level:

If the appliance has not been installed so that it is level, it may cause the machine not to spin. To level the appliance, adjust the appliance's feet and check it with a spirit level.

Unstable base:

If the base on which the machine is placed is unstable, e.g. a wooden floor (not a solid level base), it may cause the machine not to spin. If the base is not level or firm, movements may occur in the machine which prevent it from balancing itself.

Dirty filter:

If the drainage does not function properly, it may cause the machine not to spin. Clean the drain filter and the pump blade (if the pump blade is visible, turn it using a pencil and remove any fluff or foreign objects). Then refit the filter and start a hot wash without any soap to clean the machine. Check if the drain hose is set at the proper height (min. 60 cm - max. 90 cm) and if it is not put too far down into the drain (max. 10 cm).

There is a balance sensor in the machine that checks to see if the load is distributed for high speed, When that sensor goes bad, the machine wont spin the water out of the clothes. YOu need to check for spares

The out of balance is why it does not spin. You can manually stop the machine, and spin the basket. Then move the clothes until it is balanced. Then start it again on rinse & spin or drain & spin as appropriate. When you get tired of this, try below.

Or you can change the "Soil Level" to heavy or very heavy". This increases the water level and helps it balance the load.

I have a Maytag Neptune TL. The machine is working normally except it's not able to fully extract the water out of the clothes. When the full cycle is complete the clothes are still dripping wet. I have a...

We are talking about FAV6800A or FAV9800A TL correct?
If so you need these links the Service Manual and parts look up; here is the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
If your machine completes the wash cycle with no error code such as ND (No Drain) and there is no visible water in the bottom of the wash basket when you remove your wash load then I would do this test.
Take the next wet wash load that is dripping wet and lets do a Quick Spin Test in Service Mode. During this test test the FAV6800A LED display model will step thru the RPM (revolutions per minute) or goal is to ensure the machine will spin the wash basket up through all Spin Cycle RPM ranges. Any RPM range above 99RPM’s will be shown with a (.) dot after the two numbers displayed i.e. 350RPM will show as 35. 550RPM will shoe 55. And so on.
I’m and owner of the FAV6800A and I’m not sure what the LCD display of the FAV9800A will display.
Enter into Service Mode;
Page 14 of the Service Manual; below I have cut and paste the instructions.

Enter / Exit Service Mode
To enter Service Mode press the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the control beeps.
Now go to page 14 and enter this front panel key pad press to start a Quick Spin Test and see if the machine with that wet clothes load will spin the wash basket to 850RPM.
Quick Spin Test
While in Service Mode, press the Hand Wash
key to start a Quick Spin Test.
Quick Spin test steps are as follows:
1) Lock the lid.
2) Spin to index speed 90 rpm and hold for 60
seconds. Pump drains machine.
3) Spin to index speed 150 rpm and hold for 6
seconds.
4) Spin to index speed 350 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
5) Spin to index speed 550 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
6) Spin to index speed 700 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
7) Spin to index speed 850 rpm and hold for 6 seconds.
Pump out.
8) Coast down to 0 rpm chimes 3 times.

Hit the Off button to get out of service mode.

If the machine spins the wash basket to 850 RPM then we need to start looking further. What are your results?

You can check the flow rate of the drain system by again entering Service Mode and turn the Drain Pump on in service mode. I would (hand fill) place 5 gallons of water in the machine and turn on the drain pump see page 16 for Board Output Test.

Enter Service Mode and press the Delicates key. You are now in Board Output Test now press the Presoak key and the Drain Pump will turn on. If your machine pumps out the 5 gallons of water in 60 seconds or less I would say your Sump Cap, drain line connection from Sump Cap to input to the Drain Pump, Drain Pump and discharge line are all working as designed. If the Machine takes greater then 60 seconds to dump the water then you need to start troubleshooting for a drain line restriction or Drain Pump issue…...Rich

Clothes too wet

Watch the washing machine go through its complete spin cycle.(It could have a filter in the pump,check for water flow coming out of the drain. Make sure the washing machine is fully leveled with a square. make sure you put fairly big loads to keep it balanced. If the washing comes out wet on the final spin ,add some more garments and then put it on spin again as the w/m might be going out of balance. Under the work bench on top some times there is a spring to adjust the tension. about every five or six years the motor brushes need changing.
