Each time I try to photocopy or print a document the printer gives a error Paper jam in B. But once I open and close door B the error goes away only to return when I try the process all over again. How can this be fixed?

Remove the tray and check the wire you mentioned, that it is connected to the paper end sensor.
Probably the paper end sensor has its plastic legs broken.
If so, replace the paper end sensor and you will solve the error message.
Good luck and please rate me, thanks.

There may be an obstruction inside the printer. Try this....remove the paper from the paper tray and put paper in the handfeed tray (front of the machine) If it feeds from that tray it means that the feed rollers in the bottom cassette are worn.

No such error SC-820 in Ricoh Aficio MP 161. I have service manual and no such error.

The problem you are facing is a hardware issue try power cycling the printer by taking out the power cable and wait for 3 minutes and try to turn it back on if the issue still persists contact the manufacturer.

If the sheet of paper is damaged there may be a blockage in the paper path. If the path is cleared and it still damages the paper then the feed rollers could be worn. Question for you, when the paper gets damaged does it fan up like an accordian? if so there is an issue in the fuser section. Hop this helps
