But be absolute sure your HDMI port is not working properly, I recommed you try it again with another HDMI cable, you can also try same cable in another TV.
You might be surprised but maybe its a software issue. I had the same problem, no audio via HDMI ports/channels but a perfect picture. A possible Solution and really easy to do it yourself - 1. Switch off the TV by the TV on/off button so no LED lamps are lit on the TV. 2. Unplug the TV from the wall socket and leave switched off for 5 minutes. This resets TV software. 3. After 5 minutes, insert plug into wall socket, switch on the TV and hopefully the HDMI problem be rectified.
Sounds too easy I know but it saved me a trip to the TV shop or throwing it in the skip. You might be surprised but maybe its a software issue. I had the same problem, no audio via HDMI ports/channels but a perfect picture. A possible Solution and really easy to do it yourself -

are you using an HDMI cable? is it a cheap thin cable or heavy duty?
HDMI cables carry sound but it's possible you don't have it seated completely or it's a cheap cable. or your audio settings on your TV are not set to HDMI if that's the cable you're using. try running your audio setup on the TV Menu.
try connecting thru an hdmi cable from your dvd player to your tv, check the colors then.. I'd say you have crossed your component cables.. match the connector letters a/b/x? and plug them in one after each other.
You could try pressing the source button on the remote to see if that brings it up.
Also the TV may have got itself in a muddle. There will be a way to reset it to factory setting. If you can get into the TV's setup menu there ought to be an option buried somewhere to do that.
I have same problem sound but no picture, have tried it on 2 different tv's but no luck, have tried 2 different hdmi leads (both Bush 26602bu) but no luck. I even thought it was the port on my tv but it works fine with another dvd player and the same lead. I even returned the dvd player and exchanged it, still the same... It's driving me nuts... Help please......
1.Press [stop]button on DVD player to Stop DVD Playback
2.Press the [resolution] button on the DVD player.
3.change resolution to 480p
if you get a picture in 480P, continue your setup of the DVD player
If you still have no picture perform the next steps (stop at the step if you recieve a picture):
4. verify the video input of the DVD player to the TV and reselct it on the TV
5. use Video cable to verify the DVD player is still working
6 disconnect/reconnect HDMI cable to TV
7. power off/on the TV
8. power off/on the DVD player
7.
5. turn off TV then Tunr
Thanks FixYa...found the answer on your forum..selected PCM in the audio menu on my HDDVD player..plugged in the same HDMI cable and now have sound...saved me a bunch of money from buying a more expensive HDMI cable..Thanks again
For the record I have a playstation 3 running to tx100 through hdmi to
dvi adapter. It does all resolution no probs, including 720p,1080i and
1080p (which tx100 does do smoothly through dvi). My denon upscaling
dvd player works fine too. In fact the tx100 looks totally awsome with
PS3 games and Blu-ray.
Maybe your dvi lead is the wrong type (i think there are 2 types)
or perhaps you could test with a differrent piece of DVI kit in case
it's your pioneer causing probs? Hope this helps.
in the dvd player make sure you just leave it default (bitstream) but in the home theater receiver don't select 5.1 b/c that will only give you a virtual 5.1 not a true 5.1. In fact don't select any sound field at all just select dolby digital or dts depending on the source of the movie then you should be ok.
The only other problem i can see is that hdmi sends both the sound and picture to the tv. You will need to see if there's a function on the dvd player to only send the picture via hdmi and the sound via the optical out of the dvd player.
