Camera Frozen When I turn on my DMC-FX07 none of the buttons work. The zoom doesn't work, the menu button doesn't work, the flash settings dont work. It won't switch from current picture when in viewing mode. I have tried all the picture wheel settings and every one is frozen. I have trie pushing and holding every button and removing and replacing and recharging the battery several times. When I replace the battery the autofocus works but then it freezes (when in heart mode) with the backlight indicator on. It won't take any picture or movies at all.

exact the same problem, with the exact same model, and in Argentina the service wants to charge me U$S100 to fix it!

Just discovered the exact same problem today. None of the buttons work after poweron. At poweron the camera starts by zooming fully in and stays there with no reaction on any button.

Hi,

I tried Option No.1 successfully when my Panasonic DMC-FZ7K froze once:

Option No1:

1. Try turning the camera on with the battery inserted.

2. Now remove the battery while the camera is on.

3. Flip the switch on the camera to off, then insert a fully charged battery. (Make sure that the battery's orientation is correct. Also make sure that the battery being used is not damaged).

4. Now flip the camera's switch to ON again.
------------------------------------------------------------
Option No. 2:

If you can open the Setup menu then the camera can be reset which might help:

Turn on the camera.

1. Press MENU SET.

2. Press the left arrow button.

3. Press the down arrow button.

4. Press the right arrow button.

5. Now, press the up arrow button several times until the menu item named RESET is highlighted. Push the right arrow button and then select and set YES when the camera asks to be reset.

Panasonic DMC-Z28 - the flash button does not call up a flash setting menu and so the flash won't turn on.

Is your Z28 set up to do burst shooting as this will stop the flash working, click on the trash button and turn off the burst shooting. Hope this helps.

Try a manual reset...remove the battery and the card. Press all the buttons. Insert the card and then the battery. See if that works.

I have a lumix DMC-F27 camera it will no longer zoom. No I not in movie mode.

Hi,

Do you mean DMC-FZ7?

I own one. Assuming that the camera is working normally, then I know two settings that will cause the zoom to be fixed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Suggestion No. 1:

If the zoom is fixed at the wide end:

1. Turn the mode dial to "P". Now turn on the camera.
2. Press "MENU SET".
3. Press the up arrow button.
4. Now, a menu item named "CONVERSION" should be highlighted. Press the right arrow button.
5. A sub-menu screen should now pop up, select and set "OFF".

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggestion No. 2:

If the zoom is fixed at the telephoto end:

1. Follow Suggestion No.1.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggestion No. 3:

If none of the above solve the problem, then the lens might have been knocked slightly out of position.

~If the camera has been dropped.
~If the camera has been thumped or banged.
~If while zooming, the lens was obstructed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The zoom motor also could have died, it costs about $50.00 U.S. at Panasonic.com.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My best advice would be to contact panasonic customer service.

Unresponsive buttons because of engaged zoom

the reason why the lens zooms out is because the zoom switch is faulty and might need replacing. The way to tell this is when you switch it on in camera mode you will see the zoom bar displays on the lcd and stays there.

Camera that keeps shutting off

Hey layneD,
What is most likely going on is that something stuck in the lens obstructing its movement (i.e. a piece of sand), or the lens has moved out of alignment. You could try removing the batteries and waiting a minute and then reinserting them. Another option you could try is putting the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed upwards, and then hold the shutter button down and while doing this turn the camera on. One more thing you could try is blowing compressed air into the lens to try to dislodge anything that might be stuck in the lens. If none of these options work I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician such as bringing it to a Geek Squad® precinct at a Best Buy™ store and they can send it out for service. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

FX8 all button frozen

I am not sure if this is a solution. but one time, i turned on my camera when the battery is really drained. usually (when it was broken) it will automatically zoom in. but that certain period when i turned it on, even before it can zoom in, the battery drained and the camera went off. i charged the battery and when i put it back and turned on the camera, it works fine. it is still working fine. good thing i didnt had the repair center fix it, because they charge really high price.
