Remote control commands from the remote that came from the 57H93 and a generic one has stopped working. The tv has been gradually not been picking up or reading the remotes for longer intervals over the last couple of months. The ability to read the remotes came back after a couple of days, but it did not come back this time. I have replaced the batteries on both remotes and they turn on the dvd player, stereo, vcr, etc. with no problems. Looks like the remotes are good and something is wrong with the tv. I have removed the screen before to clean out the spiders and spiderwebs. There is a board behind the 3 projection tubes that appears to be the remote control sensor board. Has anyone replaced one of those before? Does anyone know its part number and where I can get one? Would like to try to replace the board if it isn't too much money. Calling someone to service the tv will be expensive. Does anyone have the service manual and/or schematic for a Toshiba 57H93? Thanks!

Sometimes the led reciever for the tv goes out could need to be replaced if the remote works on other items

Could be the IR detector or something in the support circuit for that sensor - it's a bit like sayin my car goes thump, thump, thump what's wrong.. :) Ahh better not go for laughs here...Let me ask, Do all the rest of the functions of the TV work okay? (ie volume, channel, power on/off)? Did you purchase the original remote, as a replacement, for that TV or some universal? When the remote quit working - was it working one-day and then just not working the next? Have you recently moved the TV, one-room to another, out of the way to clean underneath or moved it in any way? Let me know. Bill my private email is [email protected]

Yes you can get the service manual at the following link for 10.99 and they will contact you to see if you would like the manual emailed to you. Here is the link.

yeah,it's very easy.
pull out the bottom part(where the speakers are) - they are held with plastic hooks on the inside, they are =on the left and right side and a few at the top. just pull one end and the rest will come off easily.
remove a couple of screws holding the buttons assembly and the bottom of the screen.
slide the screen carefully upwards and when you reach about half way then it will come off.
behold...the sensor is infront of you, it's a small pcb with a light sensor on it. (if you see sensors at the very top or side...they are probably focus sensors)
sure it's not the remote?

Forgot to add: The rest of the tv is working. I can get HDTV reception, watch dvds from the component input and play the WII from the composite input. I can change channels, volume and menu items from the front control panel.
I have the same problem, did you fix your T.V? What was it? How much did it cost?
