It sounds like your TV is overheating, or some component is failing after a certain amount of time. try plugging your xbox into another TV and playing it for a while to see if this happens again. If it works on the other TV then it is definitely your TV.
it is probably because your xbox is over heatng and you have a bad or loose wire in your xbox, try to put a fan facing the back of it before u turn it on
I would try having the firmware reloaded or updated. Sounds like a problem there. Try going to xbox.com and downloading the update for playing older xbox games. This also updates the firmware.
