Water remains under rubber seal. Water too high in bleach dispen.

I have a three-year old front loading Frigidaire washing machine, I really like it. But, the water level seems too high in the bleach dispenser. It is at the "low" level line for the bleach. Also, water remains under the rubber seal around the door. I worry about mold, etc. forming in this area. Is there anything I can do about either problem?

Did you try taking the dispenser tray apart and cleaning it? The exit ports tend to clog over time. Best thing I have found is to remove the tray at the end of wash day, rinse it out, dry it and put it only partially in the machine, thereby allowing air circulation. Some water will always remain at the end of the wash cycle...inherent in the design.

As for the gasket, you'll have to wipe it down at the end of wash day and leave the door open to dry everything out. I leave mine open all the time.

Hi, I recently purchased a 6 year old condo and

The result of cool water temperatures and milder detergents, is a buildup of oil and grease in the machine, which produces oily smells in the laundry. Grease and oil can take many forms, ranging from automotive lubricants to greasy foods to oily toiletry items, and, over a period of time, these oils can accumulate and become trapped in various parts of the machine, particularly in the door seal of front-loading machines.
Run an empty cycle with HOT water and a detergent that contains bleach to remove grease and oil from the appliance. However, be sure to use bleach designed specifically for laundry, as opposed to using regular bleach. ie OxyClean. and or a cup of vinegar.
Best to you.

Smell from water remaining in grey seal

My GE washer model wcvh6400j0ww was leaking. May be standing water under your machine. The repair person thought the gasket. It turned out to be the water in-let pipe (WH41X10118 and you will need seal WH41X10119) and not the gasket. He ordered the gasket and took machine apart to replace and found cracked pipe. Take your machines front off and make sure it is the gasket leaking. Good Luck,

LG TROMM WM2496HSM MILDEW & MUST SMELL

I have had the same problem with mine. I have started taking the rubber seal off at least once a month to clean it with bleach and water. I would not recommend doing this unless you are handy with tools. You might try cleaning the seal with bleach and water while it remains on the machine. Careful to pull the inner sealing lip down to get to the "Slime" behind it. Good Luck

Musty smell in washer and clothes.water remains in rubber gasket

Two thing that you might try: Add two or three cups of bleach and have the machine run a cycle (with no clothes!!!). Second, always leave the door open after use to let it air out. Also, it wouldn't hurt to use straight bleach as a wipe to the entire rubber tub seal.

Smell

this is a common problem with all front loaders. you need to manually clean the boot, rubber seal, with bleach and water but when done with that you need to put 1 1/2 cups of bleach in the soap dispeners, run a hot wash with no clothes after that run another rinse to be sure all the bleach is out of washer. inbetween washes, leave washer door open (best) or cracked if no room to leave it open
