My avr 1610 was working fine but suddenly the display as well as out put from the unit went off.when power on the green standby light flashes 8 times then becomes steady.tried factory reset procedure but only the blue had display on front panel flashes.no other display comes on the unit or the monitor.ps3,DVD,sat all function when directly connected to TV.No output or display but green light on standby button flashes and remain steady.
Sounds like either a blown mainpower fuse or the thermal fuse for the power transformer. If the protect circuit was kicking in, the display would light up, but then turn off with a red blinking light. the green light with no display means the transformer is not getting power.
Testimonial: "I got it checked by a tech and it was confirmed that the tranformer primary winding is open circuit probably due to the thermal fuse.main fuse is ok.Is there any means of resetting the thermal fuse or the only option is to replace the transformer as the whole unit seems to be sealed.some advice in this regard is appreciated. The output circuit integrity was checked and found ok.The problem has been isolated to the input circuit to the transformer.your advice has been helpul to reach this conclusion and thanks a ton."

The thermal fuse is buried inside of the transformer and is not replaceable by itself. You have to replace the entire transformer.
Would you happen to know where I could buy a transformer for a Denon AVR 1312?
You can find one at partsearch.com p/n: 943101009640D for a USA model

SOURCE: I was trying to reset my Denon AVR 689 to default
Hello,
To reset with the unit OFF but plugged in, press and hold the speaker A and B buttons and while still holding them press the POWER button. Continue to hold the speaker buttons for another 1 to 2 second. The display should all light up and flash at 1-second intervals. If not flashing, try again.
I hope this helps

I have a AVR - 2802 and was working fine. One fine morning when i started the system there was no sound everything is functioning well except the sound. I checked the speaker connection and the connectiion seems to be perfect. Is there any lock in the system? Can someonetell me how to release the lock.

Hi Jimmy Joseph, This is an internal component failure and the protection circuit is stopping power up. Meter testing will need to be done to determine the cause
Thanks for the tip.I just wanted to confirm that this did not happen due to some external faults like speaker wire shorting etc.If it is a confirmed internal fault then probably I need professional help.It was because the standby light was flashing in green instead of red which is the normal case when protection circuit is active which has got me wondering.can you confirm also the green light flashes 8 times before becoming steady as if it's a fault code for a specific type of failure which you find in many other devices. Thanks and please confirm if you can.
What is the time in between flashes ? .5 sec , 2sec. ?
Time between flashes is more like 1 sec.
Disconnect all connections , unplug the power cord and wait a while before plugging in the power cord to test for "power up"
the protect circuit your thinking of has to do with the amp(speaker wires crossing or to high of resistance in the speaker) , the protection circuit for the power is different
Tried that .no luck.
An electronic tech. will need to meter test the unit
