No power output or display.green standby light flashes.

Are you getting a standby light at all? Is it flashing? Do you here a click when you plug the unit in? If the answer is no to all of these then you blew a fuse. If you do have soome sort of standby light, then your set is in protect mode. More than likely for a blown channel. If no lights, but you ar egetting a click, you could have a bad transformer. Use a DVM and see if it is open or not. Good luck

If and/or when the red led light is flashing it means the device is in protection mode.
1: check voltage regulators 5v and 12v which are the important parts to keep the device operating.
2: if there is a short circuit on the power amp, meaning the power output of the receiver.
3: check output Transistors.

Was it put into standy from the remote control and then just turned off at the wall? This can be a common cause, as it will be stuck in standby

i seem to have a similar problem with my Denon AVR 4310CI . The output to my LCD TV just went green . On checking with some people , they suggested resetting . it didnt work . Any probable reasons

Is the red light flashing at first?
The unit may be going into protect mode. Lets hope it has done the job and the receiver has protected itself from failure.
Protect mode can result from speaker wires touching each other or the Amps metal case. Check that first.
It can also be caused by unstable ohm loads if too many speakers are connected to any of the outputs especially zone 2.
If you can remove all speaker wires and turn the unit back on. If it stays on, turn the volume down on the main zone and zone 2 if connected. Then reconnect speaker wires.

The unit is in protect mode. This effectively shuts off the output amplifier section. This happens because a problme is detected in the output section. This unit will require service. Most likely the output transistors have failed. Figure on $20-$40 for parts plus the local labor rate for repair cost.

I have a AVR - 2802 and was working fine. One fine morning when i started the system there was no sound everything is functioning well except the sound. I checked the speaker connection and the connectiion seems to be perfect. Is there any lock in the system? Can someonetell me how to release the lock.

You're drawing too much power from it. Sounds like maybe your sub is hooked up wrong, double check that.

By now the folks who asked this have certainly solved their problem, but in case anyone else has this same question:
If the color change from red to green on the Power button indicator light and stays that way, the receiver is most likely working fine, it's just that your front-panel display is OFF.
1. Check the DIMMER mode by pusing the buttom on the front panel -- it may be set to OFF.
2. Push the PURE DIRECT button on the front panel (or remote control) -- it may be ON, which turns off almost all of the front-panel display. (Alternately, change the AV source, which turns Pure Direct OFF.)
HOWEVER if the power light flashes rapidly, the amp's overload protection circuit may have been triggered by a feedback loop or other problem, such as a shorted or bad cable connection. Turn off the power and unplug the receiver. Look for problems starting with shorted speaker wires or cables. Then make sure the receiver's not still hot (wait 5-10 minutes to let it cool), and remove obstructions or anything blocking the top vents. Plug it back in and power up again. Immediately change the Source selector to something unconnected, and turn the Volume DOWN just in case there's a feedback loop (hum/squeal/noise that can overload things and cause the protection circuit to trip again). If you can see the display, go to a low level (around -50dB should be fine) before the delayed speaker amp output clicks on. Then carefully switch back to the problem source -- if that's the problem, switch off again immediately and re-check all of the cable connections at both ends, the receiver and the source component, and make sure you don't have a feedback loop due to a recording device feeding back a signal. All VCRs and CD/DVD-recorders should be hooked up to the VCR, DVR or TAPE/CD-R "IN/OUT" jacks with IN being connected to the cables marked OUT on the deck and vice versa. (That confuses even us experienced guys sometimes!) Also, no MONITOR video or audio outputs should be connected to the recording decks, nor should the TV outputs be fed back to the recorders. The same goes for the digital IN/OUT jacks for CD recorders; use only the same number IN as OUT for each component (Optical IN/OUT #4 and #5 are the two digital IN/OUT pairs on the AVR-3803).

I mwas gonna suggest that you need the speakers attached but you stated later that it did the same thing with the speakers attached. The unit switching off after it checks its self is NOT a normal thing. TAKE IT BACK BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!! GOOD lUCK
