Won't play Region 2 PAL dvds

I am having trouble viewing multi-region dvds. I am able to play some PAL dvds, while it won't play others. Specifically, the dvd I am having trouble with says it is: 2+4 Colour PAL UK. Any help to unlock this dvd player would be appreciated so that I can play this other dvd. Thank you.

You can only change the region code for several times and why not just download a Try to download a region-free player on your PC such as Leawo Blu-ray Player and Aiseesoft Blu-ray Player.

I need a way to play dvd's from China. My wife brought her english training dvd's from china but we can not use them on a region 1 dvd. My dvd drive is a matshita DVD +- RW UJ890

Hi, you are partly correct, your region 1 player is also in NTSC format, other regions are in PAL format...... So even if you converted your player to multi region or bought a multi region player it still would not play a PAL disk which the Chinese disks would be! The only way you could do this is to buy a multi region PAL/NTSC format DVD player.

I have Centrios DVD Player/Recorder, and I am wondering if DVDs purchased in other countries will play correctly. Specifically I am looking at the UK PAL Region 2 type. I was told, they will only play on...

It should say on the rear of the machine what region DVDs it is programmed to play (most likely 1)but the instructions at the following like should make it play any region of DVD.

What is the country code for australia - lg dvd recorder

The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs.

Hope this information is useful to you.

I have brought some DVDs and my TV DVD player will not play them

You won't be able to do this unless your DVD player specifically says it is a multi-region player. DvVD movies that are encoded in a different region use different encoding methods like PAL instead of NTSC.

Multi regional DVD player?

Hi,

To my knowledge, yes it is. The Panasonic NV-VP32 will play all DVDs.

However, to be able to view multi region DVDs (PAL/NTSC), the Panasonic NV-VP32 must be connected to a multi system TV (capable of both PAL/NTSC).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Help

HI,
it depends on whether the drive is multi-region ?
Some drives are region Set, i.e Region 1 ( NTSC-USA )
Region 2 ( UK PAL )
Most Players Are Region Set, To the country they are purchased in, you can sometimes set the player to become, multi-region, via various buttons on the remote or by the front panel.
I offer a service to unlock 99% of DVD Players, to play all or many regions.
We do have a charge for this Service.
Many Thanks mike @ Compurepair.

Re: assistance

DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation on within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. This means that all DVD players sold in the U.S. are made to region 1 specifications. As a result, region 1 players can only play region 1 discs. That's right, the DVDs themselves are encoded for a specific region. On the back of each DVD package, you will a find a region number (1 thru 6).
The geographical regions are as follows:

REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Resevered for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
