These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can vet an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. hello the red blinking lights is a service code when this happens it means theres a power problem or a fualty circut. it happens alot with these new plasma and lcd tv's its very common since these units have built in protection and power loss a fualt or short will cuase this.
the tv needs service the tech will know what to look for according to the number of blinks.
