You probably have a defective cartridge. Way to tell is get a tissue and take the cartridge out and make an impression on the tissue and see if it looks good. These cartridges has a tendancy to dry up

SOURCE: ive had the ink cartridges refilled on my canon

Yes you can override this empty error, when the printer is on, press and hold stop/reset for 5 seconds until the empty lights go out.

SOURCE: refilled ink cartridges on pixma mp490 ...will not print

I know this is frustrating. I am all for recycling and using refilled ink and laser toner cartridges. However, the manufacturers make most of their money from ink and toner sales. So, from time to time, they will encode or datecode cartridge chips. The only times I've been ale to get around this is by using at least one genuine OEM cartridge to trick the printer. If that does not work, try another et of refills, or you will have to use only OEMs.

Canon pixma 882

bad cartridges or you set it not to remind you of ink running low
If so maybe try to remove the head and let it cap.
Unplug it for 30 minutes and re-install head etc.

Low ink warning

In short, yes. The way printers often track ink levels is by counting the number of pages printed so you have to reset this when you put in a new cartridge. As canon uses a number of cartridges be sure to do this only for the one replaced. You will get more functionality when this is done via the computer software for printing but as you don't say which O/S you are using I cannot give details.

Have installed new ink cartridge. still getting low inw warning

Hi there,

The low ink cartridge warning is nothing to worry about. If it prints, it prints. Most modern printer cartridges have a chip on it which lets the printer know when the ink is low. When you run low on ink, it sends a message to the printer which sends a message to the computer telling you to refill the ink. The problem is that it doesn't go away once you refill the ink. It still prints, you just get a notification whenever you want to print. You can still use it up until that new cartridge runs out of ink. :)

Check ink u163 error message

Firstly I suspect you are not using genuine cartridge or you have refilled the cartridge.
To fix this you need to disable the ink checking procedure.

Do you know that low ink or ink has run out message appears once cartridge empty. If you want to use refill ink in that cartridge then you need to deactivate ink level to get your printer run as usual.
