Maytag Dryer clunking noise

We have a Maytag Dryer that has a clunking noise when in any drying cycle. It is a front loaded dryer. A very loud clunk when it starts and then continual clunking during drying. It is drying the clothes, just very noisy. What could be wrong?

My dryer (maytag atlantis) has started making a loud clunking noise with each revolution. its still drying fine but sounds terrible. any thoughts?

A loose belt will allow the drum to slip when clothes hit the paddles in the drum. It sometimes sounds like a pair of tennis shoes are in the dryer when it slips and is usually rythymic.

These machines also use drum rollers that can make a racket when they go bad.

Dryer makes clunking noise when it starts and stops. Also noisy during the drying cycle. It's a Maytag

May need a new blower wheel.
The wheel is mounted to the motor and if it is stripped out it will not move air past the heat element.
Have it checked before the heat element fails.

I have a clunking noise when the drying cycle is running

I found a screw stuck between the dryer barrel where it spins around. I jiggeled the barrel enough so the screw fell out and problem solved.

Clunking sound on dryer

Remove the front panel and check the blower wheel attached to the motor.
It may need replacing.
Possibly lint and debris blocking it.

LG DRYER MAKING CLUNKING NOISE

Look inside the drum at the seam, front and back side. The weld on the stainless steel drum may have cracked. You would need to replace part number 3045EL1002F. It is moderatly difficult to replace.
