Hey! We've had a similar dilemma, and we solved it by connecting walkman to computer, then going into 'device manager' uninstalling the walkman, then remove it from usb port and re-connect it.

The computer will then 'recognize new hardware' and automatically re-install the walkman. Good as new!

Hope this helps!

No my friend, first of all get the PC suite of your player and copy all things to your PC. You will have to format it since your device has incured a virus alert. You will have to format it, there is no other way.

Says Do not disconnect on screen and is frozen there

Hi,

If the Player is frozen while connected to the Computer, then reset the Player by pressing the RESET button without disconnecting from the Computer. Once the Walkman player is reset, then remove it from the Computer. If the portable player is still not responding, reset it by pressing the RESET button with a small pin or similar object.
Confirm that the portable player is connected to a working USB port and that it is charging. If necessary, connect it to a different port. When connected properly, the battery icon will be animated or it will indicate the charge status such as FULL when charging is completed.
After charging the Walkman Player, you can use it. If the issue persists, FORMAT the Player to resolve the issue.
To format the player, select the FORMAT option from the Common Settings menu of the Player.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

Sony NWZ-E436F MP3 player won't stay powered on

First, you should check if the 'hold' button is in the on position, if it is then turn it down then turn the device on. If not, try and charge it until the battery says full.

If nothing works, you'll have to send it in for repairs or get a new one.

Wont Charge

Yeah, I had this problem too because I was connecting the USB proprietory connector/cable at the front USB drives on the computer. If you have been using front USB connecters, try using the back USB drive connecters.

It worked for me :)

Sony NWZ-E436F will not connect to any PC

Your only solution, if you have tried all of those methods, is to replace the USB cable or find out from Sony if you still have a warranty on that product. The help page and Sony's phone number can be found here:
