Am unable to get HP Solutions Center to open. The printer works fine as printer & copier, but am unable to scan.
When launching HP Solution Center, a small grey screeen opens, followed by this error message: "No HP devices have been detected. HP Solution Center will close now." when I click "OK", it does in fact close.
HP was unable to help me after 90 minutes on chat session. Ugh!

SOURCE: HP Deskjet F4280 Ink Level
Hi,
when you refill the cardtridge, you can not reset the ink level... because refilling doesn't show the ink levels.. you no need to worry. if ink is there in the carttridge it will print...
Shouldn't worry about it. They are only a rough guide. The only time to worry about it is when the printer stops working and it has told you it's run out of ink!
Thank you.......

Possible causes
Step 1: Open the System Information tool

Step 2: Verify the available system resources
If
the system resources available are below 50%, the scanner may have
difficulty transferring the scanned image to the computer and will stop
in the middle of a scan.
NOTE:
Windows XP does not give system resource information in the System information window. Skip to Step 3 if using Windows XP.
Step 3: Check for IRQ sharing between USB and other devices
The
USB controller normally shares an IRQ with the IRQ Holder for PCI
Steering device. While this device does not cause any conflicts, other
devices on the same IRQ may cause a conflict.
SOURCE: Paper stuck in carriage of HP Deskjet F4280
Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
