For the universal remotes, there is a code that you have to put in to tell the remote what codes it is to send to the TV. Perhaps you have the wrong code in the remote. The other choice is it may not adequately support your TV. This code is on a paper that came with the remote. Try another code and see if that makes the difference.
Common problem with universal remotes, you can try programming the remote with a slightly different model or brand and see if it does better. Mostly, just learn how it works and deal with it; or try out a different remote. My TV remote and DVD player remotes could both act as universal remotes, but the DVD was much better at it, so we used that one.
Hello darkshadow and welcome to FixYa. I have a list of ONN brand codes I have compiled below for you although it took me forever to find because I was searching ONN codes until I realized Onn products are actually made by Vestel=D. I hope I was of assistance to you. Happy Easter.
0067, 0193, 0247, 0586, 0698, 1067, 1698, 1193
If your remote control only accepts three digit codes just drop the first zero out of these codes Example 0067 would be 067.
