I have a Kenmore 2 door refrigertor that has an Ice maker problem. The water does not fill the ice maker tray, but water does come out of the water dispenser. I did check the ice collection overflow light and it seems to work correctly (block it and light blinks, unblock and light is steady.) Would like your help to try and repair this unit if possible.
Respectfully,
David

Most common problem is a broken ice maker module. Should also replace ice maker thermostat when changing the module. Make sure fill tube isn't frozen first. If you take the ice maker out pull off the plastic cover and in the center of the wheel that kind of looks like a gear there are two little plastic studs. If one is broke or they are pressed together then the module is bad. Make sure to replace the thermostat along with some silicone grease because a bad thermostat is what causes the module to break.
I just fixed a similar issue. The entry tube freezes, you will need to remove the module and take a hair dryer to it, make sure you get all the ice out of the tube.
My ice maker works fine, but water ends up on the bottom self?
Is there an overflow in this unit. Or what could be causing this?

Had the same problem and discovered the broken stud. I used a pencil eraser cut off to size, forced back in center hole to ensure tight contact, and waited. In a few hours it started working again, worked fine for over two years, and then the other stud broke this week. Looks like time to really fix it!
The ice maker part that's on the door where you put your cup at to get your ice , I have no power at that point or where u get your water and the light is out too . In the same area
no water comes to ice maker.
