I can't upload photos from my nikon coolpix s210...
I've uploaded photos for this album cover artwork I'm doing , which was easy ; I simply plugged the usb cable(connected to the camera) into the computer , and a box instantly popped up, giving me the option to click on 'upload photos' , which I subsequently did...well , I still have another picture to download from my camera , but when I plug it into the computer , nothing happens...I've been trying for days to plug it in , unplug it , plug it back in , etc. , but it's still not working...can anyone help me out ?

Its easy to upload your photos..first store all the photos in your desktop which makes it a faster process to upload..(upload using picasawebalbums)..coming to your problem did you try to do the same in some other computer..if its working in some other comp, the check your usb in the comp.try to connect it to other usb hubs nd check it out..

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.

There's a cable that's got a USB connector on one end and a small connector that fits into a compartment that's right beside the battery cover. It's on a little hinge that allows the cover to swivel as you open it. You'll need the Nikon CD to upload the program onto your computer. Once you've got the program installed, you can access it by an icon on your desktop and prompt the program to search for cameras. It'll find your S210 and then download your pictures. good luck!
The S210 doesn't charge via via the USB. In fact, connecting via the USB actually drains the battery faster. If you want to upload your pictures, you either have to charge the battery or take the memory card out of the camera and put it into a card reader connected to the computer.

try going to my computer, then selecting under "devices with removable storage" the one that says coolpix, camara, something along those lines. mine says "nikon D40". double click on that (if it's there) and that should be it. mine doesnt autoplay either.

You must have a software in your computer to read the pictures. It can be kodak easy share, hp photo smart, or any photosmart software. This softwares might be available in the brands website for free.
Your computer needs a photo program to upload your pictures.
One easy way is to go to a store with photo service and have your camera card pictures put on a CD. This CD usually brings photo programs sofware and you will be able to use them next time from your camera into the program then into the computer.
