Chipped screen Hi ? I have 2 small chips on my Sony Bravia screen which are very noticeable when the television is on and displaying a black background ? they each appear as a bright white spot.
Can you please let me know if this is repairable, and if so, how would it be done? Would it be an expensive exercise?
Cheers
Yes that is beyond what you want to spend. That is the LCD display. Depending on sizes they can start at $ 600.00 and go up to $ 3700.00. I just checked on your model and the LCD display will cost $960.00, that's the price of a new set.

Damaged display cannot be repaired very easily, as it is a very complex assembly of filters and you require instruments and tools that only a manufacturer might have.
LCD Screen has 2 axis. one is axis X the other one is axis Y. these 2 axis are driven by LCD driver chips built on aside the LCD screen.your problem is related to these chips.unfortunately these chips can't be replaced.you will have to replace the LCD panel
Hi, Press Info/ Display button on tv remote once, on-screen display will disappear. Only Sony tv remote will work for that, no other universal remote will close on-screen display. Thanks.
I think its either the X-sus or Y-Sus Boards which control the display. These are 2 boards with heatsinks on them, lots of capacitors and are at either edge of the screen.
