The tablet shut off automatically while on You Tube and won't turn back on
My son received a tablet for Christmas last month. While showing his dad a video on You Tube, the tablet automatically shut off and it will not come back on. He was watching a minecraft video.

Wait for about a day for possible problem reports and initial feedback. If everything is OK then you may send another portion of mailings to about 5-10% of your customers from software developers company. Wait for another day. If everything is OK this time then continue sending your announcement by portions of 15-20% with pauses of several hours between each session.
It should still be under warranty. If you lost the receipt, large stores like Target or Walmart can print another and even help you with warranty info. It might be worth a try.
The tablet was either accidentally turned on and didn't shut off automatically as it should have or it has sat in a warehouse somewhere for 2 or three years. Contact the retailer and get a replacement.
You neglected to provide the age of the tablet. If it's a couple years or older your battery might be on the way out. They don't last forever and some of them aren't of the best quality to begin with. Charge it all night long. In the morning when you turn it on if it still doesn't work right be sure to check the battery level with the A/C adapter unplugged. The level indicators are based on the voltage. If the voltage doesn't come up to spec, it might show less than 100% charge even when charged overnight.
The wi-fi problem could be battery related, too, as wi-fi is a radio transceiver that sends as well as receives signals. Wi-fi doesn't work so well if the transmitter produces a weak or intermittent signal.
I received my 3g model for Christmas as well. Last night, it lost wireless connectivity, froze and then would not turn back on, even though it was fully charge. However, I charged overnight again.
This morning, I held the on switch for much longer than normal, until the green light started flickering. I received a simple black screen a few times, but contintinued to hold the switch on. Then it reset itself and all is good.
So I know that sounds like a simple solution, but maybe worth trying. Good luck. It's disgusting, I know. I was so upset.
Hi Matt.
I`ve been repairing sony tv`s for a long time now and i can tell you that what you described is sure signs of a weak picture tube.
And the price of a new picture tube makes it prohibitive to replace it.
You could open the set and adjust the screen control on the high voltage transformer but it won`t last long.
If you decide to do that , look for a transformer with a long and thick red wire that connects to the back of the picture tube ,
That is the flyback transformer and there will be two controls on it, you want to adjust the bottom control
that is the screen control(the upper one is the focus).
Turn your tv on and slowly turn the screen control up until the picture shows up at a reasonable brightness level, if yout turn it to high or you may get retrace lines in the picture.
That may strech the life of your set for a couple of months .
Hope this will help. Merry Christmas
