SOURCE: miele washing machine wont drain

hi friend,
If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump
It doesn't spin or pump
It pumps, but the water returns
It spins, but doesn't pump
If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many
washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub
that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's
attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the
hoses
from the pump and pull the item out.

To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the
large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using
needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port.

Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator,
top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might
be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.

If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be
turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

It doesn't spin or pump
If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably
has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the
pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen
or stiff--replace it.

It pumps, but the water returns
If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your
washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the
washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck
in the drain?) Also, check for these problems:

* If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess.

* If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Calypso wont drain

Oh the dreaded calypso pump...Seen that one a million times. Pumps get clogged pretty easily. Try to get the water out manually first. Than push the washer back and lean it against the wall so that you can access the bottom. Remove the 3 screws. Bottom panel should come off. The pump is on the right, its black. Get ready with a shop vac or alot of towels, theres gonna be a flood. There are 2 clamps on black hoses that need to be taken off so that you can slide the hoses off the pump. Next remove the 3 bolts that hold the pump in place. Next lower the pump out of the hole it sits in. Youll have to follow the wiring harness up and disconnect it. Now you can try and clen out the pump or replace it. Part # is 285990. Costs about 75.00. Hope that helps. Let me know if yiu need more help. Dave www.washermd.com

Hi I had f2 flash up on the control panel so we drained it and turned it back on it now shows 5 on the control panel and wont do anything else it is a ASKO D1976

Hi

Error F2 in asko dishwashers indicate high water level. This may happen due to plugged drain pump or due to faulty water inlet valve. To resolve the issue remove the back plate and check the drain pump. Disconnect the hoses from the drain pump and clear the lint from the hose and the pump area. Lot of water would be there when you'll remove the hose from the pump, be ready to collect it. Let it dry and now the dishwasher will work perfectly now. Hope it helps...

Hi our Asko wont drain why would this be

first you should check the drain spigot under the sink remove the waste hose and see if there is a blockage there. Otherwise the pump in the machine may have a stoppage. Check under the filter in the sump You might hqve a yellow coloured pump cover. remove that and see if there is nothing blocking the pump outlet. After that you will have to remove the drain pump from the machime and test it. zyou might need help for that. You should only attempt this if you arer qualified to do so Cheers Tony.

Hi my asko fron load washing machine model W621 wont drain properly anymore and makes a clunking sound as it tries to spin are u able to tell me what possibly could be wrong with it & if its worth...

Not to worry, please check from the drain hose from beneath and open the hose. Look for dirt inside for clogging into the valve/drain pump. Remove and clean the valve/pump if there is dirt. If not during the spin the valves must open and drain. if not check for the controller section for fault. The clunk noise could be misalignment of the suspension or the damper unit. tighen or replace. Hope you try . Good day
