Have a look on either the side or back. It looks like a USB but a different shape. If the TV is really old it may not have one

Any HDMI cable manufactured in the last couple of years should all be HDMI 1.1 compliant, your problem is most likely the logic board in the TV itself or the HDMI connector on the logic board has a bad connection..

Have you tried hooking-up a standard DB15 VGA cable to the AKAI TV and your laptop?

If this works your problem is in the TV and will most likely have to be repaired to receive the HDMI signal since your Panasonic DVR and your laptop are not recognized by the HDMI input on the TV.

Good luck!

SOURCE: AKAI 27"LCD SN:60683669 Have HDMI connect o

Universal remote controls (like the one for your comcast cable box in which it allows you to control other devices) have "the most popular" IR codes programmed inside of it. When you type in the numbers "10812,10702, etc" you are telling the remote to use that particular IR code within its "database"
The key thing to know is that universal remotes do not have every code, just the most popular. If you have tried all of the codes listed in the manual for you model TV there's not much you can do.

  • Try searching for a code. Some brand names, such as "Akai" may have other manufacturers parts inside of it, Searching usually is done by going through certain key-presses on the remote to try all of the codes available.
  • Buy another Universal remote, not all remotes are created equal as some have mode IR codes built in than others, if you have an odd brand TV, it may be more difficult to come across one that works.
  • Buy a learning universal remote, although usually more expensive these remotes will allow you to "learn" the IR codes from your old remote to the universal remote.

I hope this helps.

I cannot find an HDMI port on my Akai TV how do I plug in my PlayStation 4?

Kinda hard to answer that question specifically if you don't tell us the model number but a HDMI port if fairly obvious, if you can't find it, it probably doesn't exist. If your TV is not HD, it probably does not have a HDMI port but it may have a DVI port https://www.lorextechnology.com/images/articles/support/DVI-port.jpg
if so, you can get a converter

Replace both HDMI ports on television

I doubt you could replace just the ports. You would probably have to replace the whole board. I wouldn't spend the money.

How do I hook-up a blue ray HDMI to my AKAI HDTV thru a digital cable box?

If your TV doesn't have an HDMI port on it then you'll not be able to use the player. Some players have hi def output jacks, but it isn't true HDMI so using a hi def cable would defeat the blu ray players resolution when viewing a blu ray disk.

Hello, the DVD play fine but tv mode, continually says no signal and screen is blue. Please help

You either have the DVD player plugged into the wrong input on the TV or the TV not set to that input. If using HDMI change the HDMI cord to another HDMI port on the the TV. In an Extreme case you have a bad connecting cord (either HDMI or other type.)

We have just bought an Akai 32 inch full hd tv (ak32fled) and are trying to hook it up to our surround sound system. We have hooked it up so that we can watch dvds through the tv, but there doesn't seem...

Most TV's now connect via HDMI leads. If your surround system doesn't have these then you will not be able to pass the signals. Some HDMI cables don't always pass the signals so make certain you have a good one that can.
However if the TV has a optical lead you can still pass the sound from the TV to your system. Assuming the system has an optical connection.
