Slow icemaker I have a Frigidaire Professional Series FRS26ZSH side-by-side. It's about 10 years old. The icemaker makes ice very slowly, but I have excellent water pressure through the water dispenser. I recently changed the water filter. It appears as though the ice cube tray is filling up fine with water. The icemaker was replaced about 1 year ago, and it has never worked properly. Our previous icemaker made ice 10 times as fast before it stopped. We're lucky if we get 2 batches of ice per day.

SOURCE: Frigidaire FRS26ZSH -ice & water dispenser panel lost power

I think you will need to unplug the pin plug under the cover at top or bottom hinge. Check the voltage and if OK leave unplugged until you can remove the dispenser and I will try to help you from the power source. Sounds like a short in the board and related to the light socket. The fuse only stopped the short from doing further damage, You may need to locate the short before replacing the fuse or board. I have looked over the wiring diagram. If you find the short without my help just be sure to replace the fuse with the correct size. The only things are the chute heater or something in that area of the board went to ground. SOURCE: Frigidaire Gallery Professional Series -

you will need to replace the water inlet valve, this runs your water and ice,, before you replace it take your water line off and hold it in a pot, then have someone turn the water back on , this will let you know for sure you are getting water to the valve,, if no water comes out then you have a water line prob,, have that fixed then hook it back up and turn it on, then you will need to run the water for about 2 -3 minutes to purge the air out of the line,,, if you rplace the valve you will need to purge also

I have a Frigidaire FRT21S6A top freezer. the ice maker is dispensing ice cubes, but incredibly slowly. what is causing this and can it be fixed without replacement?

I appreciate your post, friend!

I understand that your icemaker is dispensing ice cubes at a slow pace inside of your Frigidaire refrigerator. You could have a slow ice production due to your water filter or water valve. I would suggest checking to make sure your house supply is fully opened and check to make sure your filter does not need to be replaced. This could also be an issue with your water valve. Since it could be anyone of these underlying issues I would recommend contacting a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. This will also help you to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

The icemaker in my 10 year old side by side Galery series refirigerator doesn't work. How can I turn it off so that it doesn't use water every 15 minutes or so?

lifting the arm on the side of the ice maker will prevent the ice maker from cycling, assuming there is nothing wrong with the ice maker. However, simply turning off the ice maker may not prevent any problems you may be experiencing

9-10 year old Frigidaire Gallery FRS26ZSH refrigerator stopped cooling as only the fan was running and not the compressor. Cleaned the lower coil and fan of a small amount of dust. The unit worked for 1-2...

might be your compressor relay gone bad. if the condenser fan was running and no compressor that could be the case. Also could be a bad compressor. you could try installing a 3in1 start kit. cost about $30. if doesn't start with that then compressor is kaput.

Won't make ice

Have you changed your water filter lately. On many side by sides there are built in water filters that will slowly stop making ice and giving water because the filter is in need of changing...if this is not the problem write back and I will walk you through the other possibilities...

Ice Maker

Check the back of the icemaker & verify that the icemaker was plugged in. Check that icemaker is turned on. Check that the water supply was not turned off. Check the water supply tube at the icemaker for ice blockage if the water supply is blocked cleared the ice away. IF Ok with both items checked. Then pull the plug on the refrigerator for about a minute, so that it can reset itself. If you still have no ice within the next twelve hours then the problem will either be with the inlet water valve or the icemaker itself. However, I really doubt that since it worked prior to service. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the first steps mentioned. Hope this helps. Please post your findings
