Remove the back panel.
Check the thermal cutoff it is on the top heating element cover. You can check it with an ohm meter. If it is bad replace it 309 degrees and the hi-limit thermostat (250 degrees) you can get a kit that has both in it. If the hi limit is bad it will blow the cutoff. If it starts after replacing them check all thermostats & remove the blower cover and clean any lint or junk from around the fan. Check the fan it may be broken or stripped Clean any lint you see anywhere lint or junk will not let the heat get out the vent. You may find pencils nails or anything keeping the blower from turning.Be absolutley sure the vent is clean all the way out of the house. Hope this will help you good luck.

there may be a fault on the low heat setting, check the element works on both settings, otherwise nothing to suggest, apart from are you overloading it with too many items?
SOURCE: Brand new electric dryer suddenly does not dry well
my dryer does the same thing.
sounds like your dryer's exhaust needs to be cleaned as it is full of lint - the part that connects from the dryer to the wall and also inside of the wall. For Inside of the wall I usually take a fish tape .
also.... i would look at returning the dryer if it is not trapping the lint. i would return mine but it's out of warranty...

I doubt it is your motor that is causing the problem. It's always nice when someone says that it is the most expensive part to fix and that is the only solution. It's an electric dryer and there are tons of things that could be causing the issue for you. It sounds like the problem is probably the thermostat. What this does is shuts off the dryer if the heat is getting to high in the dryer. It is a safety feature to prevent it from catching on fire. It is a easy and cheap fix. The thermostat is located usually somewhere near the heating element housing and only costs around 20 dollars at any appliance repair shop. There is a wire diagram located behind the backing of your control panel. Just remove the few screws and take off the housing. It will help you locate the thermostat. If the motor was the problem your dryer wouldn't shut off the way it is. The thermostat is just shutting it down for safety and that is why you need to keep unplugging it to reset it. Change it out and it should work just fine for you. If you have any other questions let me know and good luck to you.

I'd sure start by making sure the belt isn't broken. You can usually see the belt with a flashlight after accessing the panel (some are in front, others in the rear) - don't go probing around bare armed without unplugging the unit....
That button with the 1/2 on it and then the time dial works and it sounds as if it is washing your clothes, but it is actually drying the clothes but heats up water in order to do it. It is kind of insane actually but it does work and that is the way to do it.
Do you know if there is a place to clean a lint filter? Is there a lint filter somewhere?
