It looks like electrolyte capacitors in the power supply board are causing this problem. If you can, open the back cover, check the power supply board, you will find some bulged capacitors. Change them. Your tv should work well. If you can not do it , please consult some one qualified to do.

I have a small seizingtTV model long. And with or without (using TV buttons) my TV will not come on unless I keep pressing the power button many many times an hour constantly in 99% of the case. There's a...

You probably have one or more burned-out electrolytic capacitors in the power supply. Any competent electronic technician can replace them. The capacitors are usually priced between $0.40 and $2.00 at major electronic component distributers such as Digi-Key or Mouser Electronics. Make sure the replacements are selected for long life, high temperature rating and high ripple current. I use Panasonic FR1 series or United Chemi-con EKZN series capacitors for this application.

Burned-out electrolytic capacitors usually have the top of the can domed out instead of flat, and may have brown or black stuff leaking out of the vent scores. The photo below shows two typical capacitors with black plastic sleeves around the can. The one on the left is good, the one on the right is bad.

Take the tv back cover apart, check the tv power supply board, that the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Check all over the power supply board, for dying parts call capacitors. The dying capacitors are alway bulging or puffing ups on it tops.U have all the tools and understanding basic electronic also can do basic soldering?Yes.Repalces all those dying capacitors, with new capacitors with same Micro Ferid but the voltages higher like 5 or 10 voltges for better heat resistance.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Turns off after being on for 2 mins.

Had a fair bit of experience with these

Normally the Electrolytic capacitors in the SMPS dry out.
and when you power up the tv after a while the cap gives up dropping a supply rail causing supply to shutdown turning off tv.

2 ways of fixing this:

1. Take to Local Service Agent or electronics repair shop and explain that its the capacitors (they won't think your dumb and charge you heaps!)

2. If your feeling confident power down and disconnect from wall power..
leave for a hour or so to let the main capacitors discharge.

next take off the back cover and have a look for the SMPS PCB
it should be dead centre on the back of the screen and have large heatsinks onboard..(Aluminium fin looking things).

now scan the board for any faulty capacitors. and good capacitor looks like:

A Faulty Capacitor looks like but not limited to:
bennytechkid_1.jpg
You'll notice that the good capacitors are flat topped and clean
any bad capacitors will have bluged tops or there insides hanging out!
then all you need to do is de-solder and replace with new capacitors.
whole job should take about 4 hours for a beginner and about $10 worth of capacitors

hope this helps,ben

Power light flashes continually but monitor will not work. I leave computer on at all times but turn monitor off. I did that last night but today it was flashing and won't come on or off. I tried turning...

Yes. Flashing LED with no image on the screen is the first sign of the power supply gets overloaded. That may be caused by blown/shorted electrolytic capacitors. Open the monitor, take metal lid off and observe for those caps which are rounded on top. Replace them with proper ones.

Tv will not turn on

My TV had a simular issue...delayed power-on with repetitive clicking. I found a post at Techreport.com about bad capacitors on the power board. This and other Samsung models seem to have an issue with these components failing. I replaced the capcitors myself last night, and the tv is now working perfectly. Cost me about $15 in parts and an hours time. Hope this helps!
