I have a brand new Panasonic 55' LED 3D TV (Australia - THL55ET60A) that when hooked up to my Sony HT-SF1000 surround sound system (which includes Foxtel pay TV) starts to flicker occasionally within 5 - 10 mins. At the same time, noticeable 'red speckles' start appearing on the screen which appears to be some kind of electronic 'noise' or 'interference'. This is most noticeable when the screen colours are dark. Through a process of elimination (swapped Foxtel boxes & watching the TV normally ie. NOT through the receiver), I have identified the problem only occurs when using the Sony receiver. This is further confirmed by the fact that we had the TV replaced but the problem persists when using the receiver. I have had the receiver for quite some time and not experienced this problem before. The problem does not seem to occur when watching a DVD through a DVD player that is also hooked up to the receiver. The Sony trouble shooting guide indicates the front and centre speakers (5.1 surround sound) are magnetically shielded but the rear surround speakers are not. The rear speakers are 3.5m+ away from the TV and are not magnetically shielded but at that distance shouldn't be impacting on the TV. Whilst still watchable, this is a very annoying situation which on occasions results in the image disappearing completely. By switching the TV off & on again the image returns but the 'red speckles' and occasional flickering continues. Any help or advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Jeremy

you have mention that after 10-15 seconds T.V starts up, will you give total description of the T.V within that 10-15 seconds?

You better to check the color wheel or Lamp ballast.
Normally, the noise comes from color wheel.

This is really a very simple thing to diagnose---go into the customer menu and select convergence--if red or blue is skewed there and will not adjust in some direction--you have a convergence circuit problem.
These sets use two convergence IC chips--if convergence will not adjust you need to replace both chips along with any of the resistors around them that protect the set and are bad.
Parts are cheap for this ----less than 30 dollars for everything you will need.
Based on the Pt56wx51e model number this set uses two of the STK-392-110 chips--they are black and side by side on metal heat sinks with fins and will have the full STK number printed on them in white letters.
Most shops get 300 or more for this kind of repair. If you or someone you know can do it you can save a lot of money.
The repair really only involves two things: getting at the chips and parts and being able to unsolder and replace them.
I HAVE START TO FINISH STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR ON THIS MODEL. They will tell you everything you need to do the repair and how to do it--I have fixed hundreds of these sets with convergence problems.
If you think you can do it let me know and I will post the full instructions here for you.
Once the problem is fixed the set will not have the same trouble for 5-8 years--lifespan of the parts.
If this has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.
