1. Hack for PAL p-scan using the supplied remote is "play", "159 222 023 00" , then press "play" for region 2 player

2. Enter RC6 command via Pronto

[For multi-region using a OneForAll (URC7560), to generate the RC6 code:
2.1. The remote should be set up to control the DVD (setup code 0539).
2.2. Press the DVD button.
2.3. Press the Magic button.
2.4. Press 085.]

2.5. The display should read '----'.
2.6. Enter the following with the normal Philips remote:
[On newer models, there appears to be 11 spaces in which to enter a code].

222 222 005 255

The player should now be able to output pal progressive scan + be region-free.

Are you in the US? Your TV system is NTSC. The player possibly plays NTSC and PAL(European system) discs on PAL TVs only. Try to find out from the user manual of the DVD player if you can change the output signal to NTSC. Now it is PAL even though you are playing NTSC discs.

Is there a way to change the region code on a Sony HCD-S300 Please?

Unfortunately, you have a DVD player that is "Region Specific" and cannot be changed. Your system has a region code printed on the back of the unit and will only play DVDs that are labeled with identical region codes. DVDs labeled "ALL" will also play in this unit. If you try to play any other DVD, the message " Playing this disc is prohibited by area limits." will appear on the TV screen. Depending on the DVD, no region code indication may be labeled even though playing is prohibited by area limits.

I bought a Samsung BD C6900 from USA designed for region 1 and A . Living in Europe I cannot play my european DVDs and BDs ? Are there any solutions to change the region code ?

Here is a solution: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-c6900/10895

Please note, however, that even after region code hack, it may remain NTSC only, so if you are planning to play European DVDs recorded with PAL system, it may not work.

It is possible (almost certain) that the GB map you have is licensed to be used on that particular model. It is like Apple not allowing an Ipod owner to play music not downloaded through iTunes. You should consider buying a new GB, or even a European map valid for your GPS.

Can´t play European dvd´s in my Sony DVPFX810 player!

Hello Selmabjork:

Most DVD players have what u call region codes to play different types of dvd's. Look in your DVD menu settings and select the correct region code where u live. The US region code is 1. So this where I would start.
My question to you is does it play normal dvd's ok. Such as DVD's made in the United States, if so it's set right now for US region.
Also check your user maual for all region codes its usually there.

Happy Viewing....LT

I can not play any european DVD on my dvp fx930 bought in USA.Please help i live in Belgium.

you have to change the DVD region setting of the machine to be able to play those european discs. Look for a code to make it region-free if you can. Just do search in the net you might be lucky.

I have just bought a Panasonic DVD-LA95 but did not realise that it is Region 1 only. I need to change it to region 2 to be able to use it here. Can you help please.

you need to check that it supports pal output, if its a european unit (check the manual and player bottom for the ce mark) then it will play pal discs and will need reverting to the multiregion upgrade ( a disc and a few button presses about £20 online)) if its an american unit then it wont play pal discs even if you do manage to multiregion it.

The cd tray eject after put in the DVD movies, but VCD working fine...it is means that the drive's region code haven't set yet .(please refer to user manual to setting the region code) ..or unplug the recorder drive from the dvd player, using the computer setting to change the region code by connecting to computer's IDE cable .
