Freezer cold not frozen, fridge cool but not cold enough.

Side by Side kitchenaid fridge. For 24+ hours the freezer side has been holding steady at about 30 degrees F, fridge side at about 46 degrees F. Neither side cold enough to do its intended job, both set on coldest setting. Temps were higher until I cleaned the coils. Any ideas for what to do to get the temps down a little more? Thanks in advance.

HI, simply replacing the thermostat and air diffuser assembly will fix this cold control issue you are experiencing.

Is the refrig running constantly? and still can't get to 0deg???

You say it's 30deg in there! I assume you are using a thermometer IN the freezer. Is the fan in there running (you can hear it). If it is, and you say you aren't cold enough, you lost freon...

Why are only drawers in fridge cold & not making ice?

Contact a professional. Sounds like either your damper door is not operating correctly and not letting enough cool air from the freezer enter, or there is an air leak that is making ice form .

I have a kitchenaid superba ksrs25ilwh side by side fridge. The freezer is working fine but the fridge wont get cold enough even at the lowest temp

check the damper vent door for proper opening and closing as if this door is frozen shut or broken and jammed it cant open to let cold air in from freezer it will be behind a plastic grille between the freezer and fridge compartments and you should hear a fan in there running to move cold air too

Not getting cold, freezer freezes food but refrigerator cool..

The fridge gets it cold air from the freezer. There is like an air tunnel that goes from the freezer (usually in the back) to your fridge to provide cold air.

What probably happened it the tunnel is blocked with ice or another liquid. The easiest thing to do is unplug the fridge for 24 hour so the ice can melt.

Fridge in storage for 4 yrs, now not cooling

Good day,
After that much time, be sure the fan motor in the freezer compartment is running, as well as the fan motor on the back bottom behind the cover by the compressor. Either could well have frozen up after 4 years of storage.
As well a refrigerant leak could have developed because of the time frame. However, if it is less then 5 years old, the sealed system would still be under factory warranty.

Refrigerator is not cold (50);freezer is working; vents not blocked. What can I do? Fan is working, & compressor does kick on.

Nine out of ten times it turns out to be a defrost issue. What most people dont understand is the refrigerator gets its cool air from the freezer. If the evaporator coil in the freezer becomes a block of ice then the airflow from freezer to fridge section is blocked. The block of ice along with already frozen foods in the freezer compartment help to keep those foods frozen. Therefore you assume the freezer section is fine. However, the lack of cool airflow to the fridge side quickly turns that 38 degree air into 50 degree air. You could try unplugging the fridge and leaving doors open for 24 hours, this will thatw the evap coil. Plug it back in after the 24 hours, and within 12-24 hrs everything should be cool. If the fridge continutes to cool for about 3-6 days and then fails again, you certainly have a defrost problem. This is long winded, but hope it helps

Freezer is cold but not keeping icecream frozen.

If, the fresh food section is 34- 38 degrees, then the freezer should be cold enough to keep ice cream solid. All of the cooling capability comes from the freezer section. I, personally, would not waste time or money on a ten year old box. Ten years ago it cost $1000, so, the outlay is $100 per year. Dump the old refrigerator and get a new one.
