I was watcing tv when all of a sudden a 2" vertical black line appeared in the middle of the screen and won't go away. Next to the black line the remaining tv program is distorted in the middle of the screen. When you turn off tv you still see the black line in the middle for a couple of minutes and eventually goes away. Please help with any suggestions where and what to look for first when I open the lid of the tv.
It sounds like an Intergrated Circuit (IC) has fried. Even on a good day, this is not something you can attack at home. As a tech (and as an owner of that model samsung), I'd need a map & tools to know what's going on. Your best bet in this situation is to contact Samsung and let them recommend an authorized service center in your area. Sorry I can't be of more help, but this is a rather serious problem.
I have a samsung plasma HPR4272 that had a 4" black vertical line on it about 6" from the left side of the tv and when I shut the TV off for 30 minutes the line split and you can see the normal screen inside the two black bands. Otherwise the picture is fine. There is also a red vertical line in one of the black bands
Hi just by using a 3-2 prong converter which is found at a hardware
store can take away ur problem. It takes the plug into the wall from a
3 prong plug to a 2 prong plug and is supposed to work. try it and let
me know if it works....
