Condensation on inside of the door

I have a Maytag Dryer PYE4500AYW and it is difficult to get the dryer door just right. If i don't get it just right, I get lint all over the door and condensation on the door, but if I get it just right, the dryer's lint goes where it is supposed to and there's no condensation. Help!

Why,what's wrong with the door that it doesn't close,i mean is it not locking,is the door gasket bad or not there?are the hinges bad?what do you mean by getting it just right?all you should have to do is close the door, the strike on the door goes into the catch and latches the door closed,is the plastic catch broken,if so the door won't stay closed,if the hinges are bad you can't get them for this dryer anymore.you can go here, put your model number in and go to where it says door and you can see all the door parts,if it's closing but air is getting through the door the gasket could be bad

SOURCE: black soot in dryer

There are several possible causes: a)  exhaust vent is restricted forcing the lint to enter the dryer shell and overheat and/or be picked up by the blower -- you seem to have inspected this b)  check the hot gas inlet to the drum.. on some dryers, lint buildup can occur in tight spots and it will overheat and char c)  ducting is not intact or leaks allowing lint to leak into the dryer shell -- this will occur over time, and all dryers should be taken apart and cleaned out on a regular basis... also, all ducting should be inspected and sealed as needed d)  verify that the inlet vents to the dryer shell are not blocked and allow adequate air flow to the burner assembly -- natural gas normally won't smoke due to incomplete combustion, but..  likewise, verify the room has adequate ventilation particularly if the utility room or closet is very small,  e)  check the drum drive belt, as it gets old, it will release dust and minute pieces which will be picked up by the blower -- replace if needed... f)  verify that the seals on the drum are still good -- replace as needed g)  as 'washer-tech' advised, do a thorough cleaning and inspection... put it back together with all ducting tight and free flowing

SOURCE: how to remove lint tray receiver: maytag dryer model#pye2300ayw

Unplug first with a straight blade screwdriver, pry up on the top of the dryer where the front wall of the dryer and the top meet. there are 2 screws 1 on each side inside the dryer where the sides and front meet, remove them and unhook the wires from the door switch. the whole front will now pull out and up, now open the door remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the door opening and the whole lint tray will pull out. sounds like a lot but only takes about 5 minutes.

SOURCE: How do I remove the lint housing of Maytag Neptune dryer

Hi Kate,

Gaining access to the lint housing sounds more difficult than it is. As a matter of fact, I could get to it and have it back together in the time it takes me to type out the instructions!

Tools needed;
1.) Phillips screwdriver
2.) 5/16" nut driver or socket

UNPLUG THE DRYER FIRST!!! Or risk a funky new hair-do...

Open the door and remove the four screws at the hinges then remove the door. Opposite the hinges, you'll see 4 more screws, remove these too. Now grasp the front panel on both sides near the top and pull it toward you. Lean it out to about a 45 degree angle and lift it off the clips that are holding it (at the bottom).
Now you'll see the lint trap housing. Look around the housing, you'll probably see a yellow wire near the 5 o'clock position, remove it. Now, on either side, you'll see four 5/16" screws... Don't remove the top ones, just remove the three below the top ones. You can now pull the entire panel off of the frame for cleaning.
Rebuild in the reverse order (and don't forget to re-connect that yellow wire!)

There ya go! Please don't forget to rate this as "FixYa", OK

SOURCE: LG dlg5988W Gas Dryer - flashing "clean filter" light

i got the same problem and no repair man could help . i think i just got mine fixed 6-15-09 .what you do is go behind the dryer , remove the air duct and then remove the pipe that is inside the machine by removing one screw . this will give you access inside the machine .first clean as much as you can of the lint inside by vacuuming it . if you look to the left you will see 2 wires with a black button in the middle this is the ignitor ,clean it good because i think the dirt is not allowing it to light up . i did that and mine is working but the cooling light is still on .

SOURCE: Bosch condensation dryer model WTL5400vc. lint filter alarm

there is a reservoir in the base of the dryer which holds some condensing water prior to the pump pumping it to the holding tank at the top this has a float swith to tell the pump to come on and drain water to top tank this is probably stuck in the on position so the machine thinks it is always full of water and its waiting for you to empty it,you need to remove side panel and remove flost switch to clean, remove condenser and put youre hand in back of unit if its still very wet in there thats the problem should be bone dry at end of cycle.

hope this helps

Puddle of water in the dryer

The water comes from condensation inside the dryer ducting and drum. Heavy condensation can occur when the dryer exhaust ducting becomes clogged.

As your dryer runs, it exhausts warm moist air from your clothing. If lint becomes trapped inside the ducting, or if the ducting is kinked, this moisture has no where to go, but condensate inside the walls of the ducting and/or drum. If lint becomes accumulated it can act as a sponge and absorb this moisture.

Maytag performance not heating

the thermal fuse is usually down low on the heater box exterior. you will need to move the dryer away from the wall to get to this one!

If your top stat was burned up you might have a bad heating coil now too! Sometimes all that burnt stuff gets on the coil and damages it.

Be sure to unplug the dryer before doing anything inside!

Maytag Performa Dryer Mod PYE4500AYW Has power but will not start

check your door switch. if it is ok, get this kit part number LA-1053. This is a very common solution for this dryer. the thermostat fix kit will contain a thermostat and two other parts....one is for gas and the other is for electric. just read the instructions and you will know what one is for your dryer. these parts can be accessed by lifting the lid and looking to the rear of the cabinet past the drum. MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG THE DRYER FIRST
