Any floppy disks or USB Drives attached to the computer?

What is the boot Sequence as found in the BIOS?

More details of any troubleshooting that you have done would be helpful.

SOURCE: Error loading operating system

Disconnect all devices from the power supply EXCEPT the motherboard
Remove any extra cards including video etc.(plug monitor into the onboard)

If you hear any beeps these can indictate where the fault is.
either of these sites below will help you further with that

Beep codes P
c

More beep codes

Power up the pc and see if the fans are working.
If not then double check the power connections to the board.

If you still have no fans it is time to suspect the power supply as the probable cause.

If the fans worked then you should have gotten a display which told you there was an error and offering you a chance to go into the BIOS. ignore it and shut down the PC.

Now connect one drive only and boot again.

Repeat that until you identify the component that is giving you a problem.

Once you find the problem then remove or disconnect and carry on with the rest to see if another component might also cause a problem

If there is only one problem device then you may want to investigate that device further, Unless you don't mind replacing it

Only do this if it no longer under warranty

Got an acer aspire ax3812 tower is on but screen stays blank got any ideas

Change the internal Ram sticks. This can cause a "Hold" in the BIOS boot process, thereby stopping the machine from going to the Operating System. Hope this helps.

When i turn on tower a blue light comes on, the monitor comes one for a moment an says power saver and then it goes off.

This means that your monitor is not getting any signal from your video card. Check if the monitor cable is properly plugged in. if it is try connecting another monitor to your tower. If That fails theree must be some problem with your video card..

Just bought new tower pc,when connecting to monitor getting error box which says"not optimum mode, reccomended mode 1280 x 1024 60hz ? any thoughts?

hi,

I think the operating system your using has less color drives or on board VGA has less color dives which would work with the monitor .
An upgrade of your operating system would fix it .or buy a VGA card and this will come wit its color drive installation CD ie

Good luck

It is turned on but screen stays black once tower is powered up.

we need to make sure whether its a Tower problem or monitor Problem>
Do this simple test> Disconnect the Cable that connects the Tower to the Monitor(while the tower and the monitor are on)> then see if you have any error msg on the monitor screen> if you have someting that says "Chk video cable" or " no signal"
Ur monitor is fine and the tower is faulty> IF not thn ur monitor has gone bad>

My computer doesn't load on the screen as I turn it in

A solid amber power LED on a Dell System is indicative of a no post. There are 4 diagnostics LEDs on most Dell Towers (Either on the back marked ABCD, or on the front marked 1234) they can give more details of what the POST problem is.
Troubleshooting: Disconnect all external connections to tower except power, turn it on, see if the LED indications changed. If they change, then connect disconnected items one at a time till the failed item is found. If no change, the open tower, remove all PCI expansion cards, see if system will boot. If still no change, then most likely a motherboard failure. Take RAM out, see if you get a Beep error code when powered on, if no beeps, replace motherboard. If it does beep, try RAM modules one at a time, if it boots with 1 but not the other, replace the effected module. If no boot, with either replace MB

Xps 600 tower does not power up the monitor

The system will turn off if you hold down the power button for 10 secs. Can you check if other monitors work fine with this system?? (my best guess is - NO) since this monitor works well with other systems, the monitor being a failure is ruled out. So this boils down to a system failure & not a failed monitor. Worst case scenario this one must be a Motherboard & Power supply issue.

Tower broken

This is a stupid error. Check the motherboard inside and see if anything has gotten unplugged. There is no way for a chipset to break or come off without you doing it. Is this a DOS start up screen or a windows screen? The tech that you talked to is an idiot. If this is a windows error, it is some software installed that is giving this error. May be a motherboard monitor. If you have a motherboard monitor and everything is running cool then it is nothing. This can be checked in the BIOS; hit DEL or and F key when it starts to check your temps.
You can buy any computer and it will work with any keyboard or mouse, monitor, speaker, or anything else that will connect as long as it is not software related with the operating system. The operating system will have to support the drivers for a printer, scanner or something like that.

I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future.

Black screen

The beeps are probably BIOS beep error codes. Through a series of long and short beeps the computer communicates computer problems that occur early in the startup processes. It's likely the problem isn't your monitor but something in your computer box itself. If you can tell us what the pattern is we can start diagnosing your problem. We'll also need to know the manufacturers name, the specific model computer you have and what operating system you are running.
