check for progressive scan and interlaced setting also verify if you have component hook up that it auto maticall chooses your resolution because if your tv is waiting for 1080i and you send 1080p it will not always work and if it expects 1080i and you send it 480i(s-video or rca connection) it may not automatically flip

The tubes have aged and the colour balance between the tubes has shifted. You will need to redo it using a black/white test image: first the black (the cutoff point), then the white (the gain) on each tube - always start with the green colour. This is done on the final video amplifier of each tube by adjusting the corresponding semiadjustable resistors.

Hi,
If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't
troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional
to isolate the problem. Also, check if your unit is still under warranty/extended warranty
period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the
back cover will void the warranty. Hope I helped you. Have a nice day! Thanks for using Fixya.
This kind of symptoms indicated of convergence circuitry failure. The affected parts is the 2 convergence IC's (STK-392-110) and some of the fusible resistors (low resistance resistors). If you are going to DIY, you must have a multimeter to test the resistors' resistance. After you've pinpoint the faulty resistors, replaced them together with the IC's.
Prepare necessary tools like soldering iron, desoldering pump, philips screw driver.
Let me know if your handy with electronics and I will guide you fixing it yourself.
