Expensive Repairs A reputable repair facility has told us that our Odea Go needs a new water pump assembly. Is this something that goes out on a regular basis? They're quoting about 4 hours labor to replace and $90 for parts, or about $276 to repair. I don't want to do this again, anytime soon. The unit is about 2 years old. Thanks for any information.

You could have knocked it out of its shaft or worse, Cracked the shaft itself.

Settings could be off too, It fairly common. Recheck the chamber, and make sure the plastic casing isn't cracked and the grinder doesn't wabble at all. It should be fairly firm.

If it isn't firm, bad news, cracked shaft.

This may just be a cleaning issue. I have had this alot. If you open the machine and take the contraption out of the inside (the hopper thing). You should clean this of course but the problem is behind that on the back wall of the machine. There is a diagonal slot. at the bottom of the slot is a drainage port that is supposed to take the water and send it to the tray. but you will probably find that this is all clogged up with coffee. You need to clean the coffee out, I recommend pipe cleaners and Qtips and patience to get it out. You will know it is clean when you can squirt water into the bottom of the diagonal slot and it will flow out of a little port just below it (where it goes to the tray).

How to keep this from happening again. Most likely given the description of the beans (too wet), your grinder is set too fine. You can adjust the grinder when it is running and you should adust it to a higher number. Its recommended to be on 8 and you may need to go to 10 or 11, ( you have to experiment with it). I only recently realized that my own grinder was set at too low of a number and it was causing a recurrence of this leakage issue.

If it's from the left side of the machine, probably the tap valve seals are leaking. If alot of water leak out without any coffee from the spout, then the hoses rupture or boiler leakage inside the machine.
