HOW TO MAKE A PRINTER WIRELESS

SOURCE: No wireless printer port for lexmark x4650

Your firewall for the wireless is blocking the port. Go into your firewall settings and add the port from the printer to bypass the router. What operating system do you have? It should be in Control Panel under Security Center.

I would like to inform you that Lexmark X5470 is not a wireless printer. However, if you want it to use wireless then you should have a Lexmark N4050e 802.11g Wireless Print Server.

This is probably the Software Firewall on your laptop

you should probably tell your firewall software that you have an internal network (Laptop-desktop-printer) you should add the IP range of the wireless network as a trusted network.

Is the wireless network on you router secured? a 169.254.x.x ip is an invalid ip meaning, it's not connected wirelessly to the router yet.

I would recommend you to reinstall the driver from the below link. also if you click on Technical support - How to install downloaded driver it will show you how to install it.

Also in the related links there's user guide for the Printer. it has instruction on how to configure network on your printer.
